My review
I have been looking for something like this for a while, and now I have it. I have been using this for a few months. I like... - all options and display options - have no issues with the range - remote sensors seem like good quality (as does the display) - can schedule the screen to turn off and on at different times (good for sleeping) - the results can be saved to a sd card. drawback... - the display is small (but I knew this when I ordered it) - the chart on the display is even smaller. (will need reading glasses if you use them) I wish... - I wish it had a mode where the graph could be the entire screen!!!!, as it is somewhat tiny...but it works. - There are many "names" to choose from for each sensor; however, I wish they could be renamed manually. It looks like this can be done with a computer/sd card but I have not tried it. 5 stars from me...but just barely because the graph is so small but it's the only think like this... if another product came out with the same then I would give those 5 stars and this one 4.

+5 years and still going strong
5.5 years running and still strong. Sensors are still running on first battery and reception between sensors and base station works very well. The sensors connected to the base during setup within seconds and have been stable since. Highly recommend if you want to monitor temp and monitor in general and hard to get to get to places (e.g crawlspaces)

Accurate and performed exactly as I expected. Well worth the price.
I have used the Ambient Weather WS-3000-X5 for a little over a month now and haven't experienced any of the negative issues I've read about in some of the comments submitted. The instructions were clear and the set up was simple, although I haven't used the pc connection extensively but the installation was straight forward and easy. The display was a little smaller than expected but no problems reading the info, and it doesn't take up much space on my desk. The sensors and receiver all appear well made both in form and function. When placing any sensor outside you should take care in positioning them so that the don't receive direct sunlight and are protected from rainfall or other water sources. Initially I set the units up in my study arranging them with at least a 5' distance from the others and set up to display the temperature and humidity, then left the room and waited. Around an hour later I returned and the temperature readings had settled out and were the same with the exception of two being 1/10th of a degree higher than the others and in agreement with the settings on my air conditioner thermostat. The humidity readings were displaying similar readings with each other, no more than 1/10th of a percent difference. After monitoring them for two days I relocated one to the attic, the garage, my home gym, and my gun safe, keeping the 5th in my study temporarily, where they've been for the past month. All have been operating well within my expectations. With the history graphing it is easy to visualize changes that have occurred as you would expect the differences in temperature and humidity to be in the respective locations throughout the day and night. I have not had any sensors drop connection with the receiver at this point. I am unsure what the battery life will be in the sensors but not really worried as the batteries are easy to replace. This morning I moved sensor (ch1) from my study to an outside shaded area of the backyard, The receiver indicated the correct outside temp within 15 minutes as you can see from the picture. Within an hour the humidity reading raised from 42% to 54%. While the attic (ch3) shows 57% humidity, the attic generally indicates 20% less humidity than weather sites report, probably because my ac and furnace units are located in the attic. I expect (ch1) humidity reading to continue to rise as it updates. Overall I am very satisfied with the devices and price point, I definitely recommend the product.

Best Thermometer/Humidity/Heat Index Monitor I've ever owned!
This is simply the coolest and best Thermal monitor I've had the pleasure to own. Let's break down why- 1). It's super easy to set up. Just put batteries in all of the remotes. Set the dip switches for what channel you want them to be. THEN plug in the base station. It set's itself up, including time, (although you have to set the std time) . Then you see 5 channels displayed within minutes. And for simple basic temperature display, you're done! Distribute them up to a football field away (line of sight), or ~100 ft thru walls etc. 2). Each sensor has a local display, so you can pick it up and gawk at it on site, instead of having to go back to the main unit. I like that. Temp and Rel Humidity. And you can read heat index at the main unit (if set up to do so). 3). It graphs a history of all 5 (up to 8) sensors at once, in color. Up to 72 hours. And it can store a history for years on a micro usb chip (just buy a small cheap one-not needed if you don't want this). ....now if you have the time and desire: 4). It has temp/rel hum/heat index alarms hi&lo for all 8 channels! 5). The display for all 5 on-screen channels (and 6-8) can be independently programmed to display temp/hum/Heat Ind for each channel (or all at once - it scrolls for that). So it's a super flexible display. It's all in the manual. I recommend grouping them all together a few feet away from the base unit, then you can calibrate them to each other (what I did - to the middle one), or to a liquid bulb thermometer. Most of mine did not need more than .2 degrees F of tweaking. Then scatter them about your environment and have fun watching the graphs. I use lithium AA batteries for their long life, but a requirement if any of your sensors expect to get much below freezing. So I've got 1 at the base in the kitchen, 2 Outside, 3 in the bedroom, 4 downstairs and 5 in the cave. Now the one subtle downside: after you hit the menu key, there's a + key that functions as 'Enter', which takes you to screens where often you can increase '+' or decrease '-'. So it's confusing at first because you'd think + is incremental, not 'enter'. They should have come up with an 'enter' icon different from +. Didn't take me long to figure that out, but that was odd at first. Just know that and you're good. This is a great unit for basic users that want 5 spots T monitored (up to 8), or for tweakerheads that want more control. Best Thermometer + more I've ever owned. (The last was an Ambient Weather one too).

Perfect for adjusting and monitoring home HVAC system settings and performance.
I am trying to keep our house cool and it is a real challenge in our hot climate. Our AC has a very low SEER value and cooling the house is a bit of a challenge. This unit is shockingly fantastic for helping me organize when to close and open windows and our garage door. I also use this unit to set our AC registers so temperatures are better balanced from room to room. For about one week, I kept moving the recording units around right after receiving the unit, testing the best locations. I ended up putting one remote temperature unit outside, one in our 3 car garage, one next to our NEST and one each in the east and west side bedrooms. I discovered on family member had a 2 to 4 degree hotter room due to a tower computer being turned on at night. The chart is a help for me by tracking the heat and cooling progression during the day. My only wish is that the chart would keep its readings while I move the unit from my two monitoring sites, downstairs and upstairs. I was shocked at the small size of the readout unit. The brightness settings, up and down buttons are a real plus. I put a Post It note just to the right side of the display to label where each recording unit was placed. I put one recording unit right next to our HVAC thermostat (Nest) and made sure it was unit #1 because it is the reference by which all other temperatures are compared. The number 1 unit temperature value shows just below the chart. It thus stands separate from the other gauges to the right side of the display. I wanted the outside temperature to be #5, or last, because it shows just to the right of the thermostat house temperature and more easy to see the value difference. This just seemed to be visually logical as I view the screen. I am considering buying another display unit, one for upstairs and one for downstairs. failure of outdoor sensor makes ALL readings on unit stop
I've had this for over 3 years. I dont even think i changed the batteries in all that time and I loved it until now. I have 1 sensor in my window 3 feet from the main unit, for outdoor temps, and the other 4 sensors throughout the house. This setup is valuable to me because of temps in my various rooms vary so much and it gives me insight into how to set my mini splits. 2 weeks ago the main display stopped showing any temps from any sensor. i unplugged it and plugged it in and nothing happened. i decided no way could all 5 sensor batteries die at the same time. But i decided to replace the outdoor batteries. the outdoor reading then all the other readings repopulated the screen. quite bizarre it's happened a few more times in the past 2 weeks that for some reason the outdoor sensor stops reading and it turns off ALL the readings on the screen. If i take out the batteries of the outdoor unit and put them back in, all readings repopulate. it's a minor thing but for something that really isnt cheap i feel it's quite a negative mark on the product.

This is a great unit. I was so please that I ordered a second one to cover our 2 story house.
This is a great unit. I have used units from another company for years, but they have always been a bit flaky. This one set up quickly. You hardly needed to look at the instruction book. I bought TWO of these, one base station upstairs, one base station downstairs. They bothj display all the sensors. I put one sensor upstairs out back outdoors, one down stairs in front, and three indoors in different rooms. Both base units display all of the sensors even though we have a pretty big house with a brick exterior. The ability to "calibrate" the sensors is neat. I put all the sensors side-by-side with an accurate mercury thermometer. After stabilizing for a few hours you just set the base station to read the same as the thermometer. The offsets were all 05. - 1.0 F. The graph function is neat too. It auto-scales so you can actually read it well. The base can be set to shut off the backlight at 10PM and on again at 6AM so it does not bother my sleep. There is a brightness button on the front panel too so it can be shut off manually at night. The WWV time receiver sync worked OK too. That signal is best received near sunrise or sunset. I have not yet tried the SD card recorder or the enclosed software. Overall I rate it 5 stars. The only improvement I would wish for is an internal battery in the base unit.

Functions as it should. Great value for the price.
Edit: I bought this 4 years ago and it has been flawless ever since! Extra remotes are available with probes on a long cord that are very useful. After this many years the remotes sometimes loose their display, but the extremes of my greenhouse are pretty hard on them. They still send the data though. Love this unit. Ambient Weather WS-3000-X5 Thermo-Hygrometer Wireless Monitor w/ 5 Remote Sensors. This IS the unit with 5 remote sensors. Highly recommended. Worked perfectly, right out of the box. After programming, I tested the sending units on a shelf together and they were all within 1/10 of each other. The screen is easy to view and use. Programming is fairly simple after reading the directions. (Write a number on each sensor as you program it to avoid confusion) Each sensor also has a display! That's great! I love that different time lengths can be programmed to view on the screen. The range is great. My greenhouse is about 100 feet from the house, with no problem going through 2 sets of walls. I even have one buried in a compost pile ( in a ziplock) and it transmits just fine. The memory function is useful and fairly straight forward. The price is very reasonable for 5 sensors and a nice display. I've used it for about 2 months with no replaced batteries and no problems. This is a great unit.

The device works well
The device is used to monitor the temperature in the different rooms of my new thermally efficiently house. So far it appears to be working well and I can graph the data in Excel. A Bluetooth connection would be really nice.
