This thing is awesome! I had a wooden one with a storage compartment, and after 25 years of daily use, it finally died last week. I can’t work without a lapdesk so I looked all over the internet. None of them were as good! Most aren’t made with real wood, and you can either have a large one or one with a storage compartment but not both. Then I found this one and bought it. This is even better than my last one! The hinge is attached in several places, making it very sturdy. They didn’t skimp on putting enough stuffing in the underside pillow like some of them do, it’s very well filled out, comfortable, and made with a nonslip material. And the best part is, the storage compartment is HUGE! It’s three times the size of my last one! The compartment is nice and deep so you can fit a lot of stuff in it. The surface is very smooth and well sanded down so there are no snags, rough, or uneven areas on the surface. The tilt of the board is easy to work and adjustable, but I don’t really need it for that; however, if I ever do need it, it works great. My only complaint is that I wish this lapdesk was much bigger. I’m sure a normal person would find the size more than adequate, but for me, bigger is better because I usually have my 17” laptop and/or 13” iPad, mouse, and an A4 size book open that I’m trying to write in. Because I don’t need the tilt feature, I keep it turned around so that the stop is farther away from me, I just kind of find it gets in the way of my wrist when I’m writing at the bottom of a page. My last lapdesk had a stop as well, and I used it upside down, too. The top has to open at the other end of the stop for the tilt feature to work so when it’s upside down, I can open the surface to get into the compartments more easily. All in all, this is a really solid lapdesk that’s very high quality. The wooden top has a good amount of thickness to it, and this thing feels solid. If you ever decide to make a giant sized version of this lapdesk, let me know because I’m gonna buy it, too!!

This is a sturdy, solid lap desk, very attractive and indeed rather elegant. I chose it over other lap desks because of the storage compartment that is under the desk itself. The lid opens up to reveal the three sections, divided approximately 50/35/15, plenty of room for pens, paper, small books. In addition, the top adjusts from flat to seven possible angled positions using a metal lever that otherwise snaps flat against the back of the desktop. This is great for writing or balancing a laptop computer or a tablet. The top also has a small piece of raised wood that keeps items from rolling off, kind of like a pen holder. If it's in the way, though, it's easy to turn the desk upside down and have that part at the top. The base is soft and flexible and molds easily to a lap or can be set on a table. So many good options. The only possible downside is that it is quite heavy for a lap desk because it is of solid wood throughout. I had read that in reviews before purchase and decided I didn't care because it has so many great features, and that was a good decision. It's a beautiful item.

It's not too heavy; not too light. It's just cozy in the lap, and very well built. Out of the box, I did have a bit of wobble in the lid. So I solved it by adding the fluffy side of some velcro dots along the edge, and the problem was solved. I've written half a book on it now, and all in all it's just a great little lap desk.

I really love multipurpose items and this is perfect. It’s very sturdy, easily adjustable, and aesthetically pleasing. It’s a bit heavy on the lap which is ideal for me to stay grounded while working, but not ideal for people who are needing something lightweight

This is a great little device. Works quite well, but, if I wanted anything changed it would be the maximum height of the lid/book holder when propped up. 3 inches higher would be great, so I just stick a small pillow under the front of the desk, & that gets the height up just right. Anyhow, this makes reading in bed or even a chair fabulous, compared to having to stick books on a large pillow to prop them up as I've had to do in the past. The desk's wood is very attractive, & the inside pockets are nice with felt liners, but, of course, limited in use. The metal brace used to hold the lid up is very nice & sturdy, not at all cheap. Previous reviews have included the heaviness of the desk; while it is a bit heavy, it seems to make it sturdier, & the cushion underneath is the perfect size. I highly recommend this acacia wood easel lap desk.

I wanted a laptop desk to use while sitting in the family room. The challenge was to find one that looked premium and would match our furniture and dark wood finishes since I would keep it out and in use frequently. I also wanted to have one with a tilt/adjustable surface. This Rossie Home product was perfect. I chose the dark finish which went well with our furniture and blends in nicely when left sitting on coffee table, etc. Again - It is so nice looking, I keep it out all the time and ready for use. A few things to mention. The tilt feature is well thought out. Has adjustable / tilt metal stand inside that is held in place with a magnet when closing the lid. The work surface has a small horizontal fixed wooden edge to prevent the laptop from sliding toward you - helpful when using the tilt adjustment. It works, but personally I find it is uncomfortable and hits my wrist when typing. I've gotten use to that issue. However I have found I do not use the tilt feature so I just flip the desk round so the ledge is on the other side facing away. That actually prevents the laptop from sliding forward and off the surface - fall to the floor. I still open the top ledge and store notes, pens and laptop / iPad charge cable inside. Although the dividers do not adjust, they are nicely placed and give good useable space - capable of holding journal book, etc. We also ordered the Rossie Home "trays" with detachable pillow to use while eating not he sofa. They are the same dark color and same fabric as on this laptop desk's pillow. It is nice to have premium wood products that match and you will be proud to keep them out for use and displayed proudly. One final thought - yes, as others have observed, the desk unit is heavy. It is completely wood, including the bottom box section for storage. Although manageable, I have found it best to not weigh it down with unnecessary, heavy items inside the storage area and for me, I don't place the my laptop on the desk when I grab it to use. Save the weight - sit with the desk first, then grab the laptop from table or sofa/chair next to you and place on the desk after it is in your lap. That saves several pounds of weight in the process. I use a 2022 MacBook Air and find it fits nicely and give enough space to still add a small note pad to the side if needed (or perhaps a mouse if that is your preference. Bottom line, great product, hard to find premium finish and look, good use options (can be used as laptop desk, or tray for eating), slightly heavy, but would still buy again and again.

I WFH as level 2 IT system support. Some days I prefer to work from my living room recliner either just so I can have an important game on while I work or because it’s a meeting filled day and I don’t need my normal power work setup. This is, essentially, a portable, miniature lap desk. It’s a simple concept, well executed and built. It’s not going to blow your mind but it is the perfect rig for doing light to medium. If using it while sitting in a recliner or chair, it adds enough overall height with your laptop on it that you don’t have to worry as much about “IT neck” (I.e. neck pain caused by poor posture while looking down at a screen over prolonged periods of time). It also doesn’t add so much height that it makes typing awkward for your wrists. It has enough room to store a reference text book and work notepad. Well built and well finished. Seems like it would be hard to damage to the point of making it unusable. Very, very pleased with the purchase. Well worth the price to enable an extra level of function and capability while working from home.

I had this on my own wishlist for a while and shared that with my mom so she could pull some ideas for Christmas. She commented several times that it looked really nice, so I took the hint. She loves this. It’s plenty large enough inside for her notebook, pens, book, and crafting supplies. The wood is finished nicely and the hinges are solid. Even the pad looks great. She can hold everything she wants on here. Absolutely zero complaints. This is a fantastic lap desk.

This lap desk was delivered today in two boxes, the original box had Styrofoam protecting the desk from any damage so bravo to whoever designed the packaging. The desk is extremely heavy and well built adding magnetic points exactly where needed for people who paint or do anything that needs this type of desk. I could not be more satisfied.
