Tow-Behind Trailer Boom Broadcast and Spot Sprayer, 21-Gallon Tank, 2.2 GPM, 12V DC, 70 PSI, Spring-Loaded Breakaway Boom, NSQ Series On-Demand Pump, Model 282780

I am a Dandelion Mass Murderer. My only problem was running out of chemical and only having half what I needed. Gallon jug listed more then I needed BUT I forgot to read closer and see that it was listed for Southern grasses not Northern like where I live, which means double strength. The spray wand is a little awkard using fiber re-inforced hose which is stored by wrapping it too tightly around clamps up front. That leaves it wanting to be a coil even more then what that hard plastic wants to be normally. Draws a little under 6 amps (measured with my Fluke 75 multi-meter) on my John Deere X320 Lawn tractor, I saw no drop in voltage on the charging system when the power is engaged and the engine is running. From the factory the switch and harness hooks to the battery with the alligator clamps you expect to see on a motorcycle battery charger. Simple and effective. I may run it through my fused 12 volt adapter as the load is small enough and the fuse for that circuit is 10 or 15 amps. Set at 20 psi on the guage and running at 5 mph gives nice coverage. This is pretty much full out with the lawn tractor whose top speed is supposed to be 6 mph but it only shows 5 on my gps. If you've never pulled a sparyer before, get up early on a calm, dewy day and let your tracks guide you. Makes it easy. If you Don't get the chance and the winds are down, follow the tracks you've left by following the same pattern each and every time you've mowed the lawn. You know you do. The mount is a tad high for my lawn tractor, the lowest setting has it mostly level, I would have felt better with a little more play on the low side but this is designed to work behind a 4 wheeler and they have a higher attach point. Also, this is listed as a pesticide sprayer on the booklet. The instructions on how not to contaminate yourself are good and should still be followed with herbicide. The herbicide we mostly use here is Amine 24D. If you don't know what Agent Orange is, look it up. Granted it was Amine at a stregth to make this look like weak Tea but really you should limit your exposure to it as much as possible. Great product with listed parts online if you should ever need to replace something.

I was a little skeptical about purchasing this product, but I am glad I did. I debated between the 21 gallon and the 31 gallon sprayer and am glad I went bigger for the extra $20. The hand sprayer works much better than I expected with the variable spray pattern, and when I want to dose the plant with water I take the end off and use it as a garden hose. The 2.2gpm pump is a perfect match for the tank. The only issue I had when assembling this is the hoses for the boom weren't quite the correct length, and the clamps weren't quite tight enough for a leak free fitting, but those were easy fixes. I did make a couple of modifications for easier use though. I cut the 3/8" hose and added a couple garden hose ends about 6 inches behind the hand wand, then installed quick connects so I can easily and quickly go from the hand wand to a garden hose. The other modification I did was snipping off the battery clamps and replaced those with an automotive type plug in connector that's weatherproof (metripak 20 series). This eliminates the worry of the clamps falling off or grounding out on the tractor frame. The only thing I am in need of is a watering head that can deliver a gentle like rain shower for watering rather than the supply spray nozzle, when is a little harsh for everyday watering, and it's hard to find a 3/8" diameter watering wand so the pump can deliver enough pressure. My quest for this will continue, and when I find something that will work, I will share. I'll take a photo of the electrical connector later and upload it to the review if I can. As for the boom, it works ok but won't be my go-to. The pattern seems to work as advertised, will just take quite a few passes in my option to achieve the desired results. Maybe this is good for a smaller yard rather than acres. Overall, a very nice product and I would recommend it for a purchase. Northern Equipment has great products and great customer service. Will buy again from them.

I had an issue with a part that was broken, I assume, in transit. Left a message on Amazon and Farol called back within 2 hours and confirmed replacement part would be sent. Great little sprayer, good overall quality, although nozzles tend to drip. Easy to assemble, just take care to follow the correct model as there are two different models covered in the assembly instructions
