Fundamentals of Engineering (FE) Electrical and Computer - Practice Exam # 2: Full length practice exam containing 110 solved problems based on NCEES® FE CBT Specification Version 9.4

This is a fantastic resource. I passed the FE – Electrical & Computer exam on my first attempt. The only purchased materials that I used to prepare for the exam were the official NCEES Practice Exam, and the three Practice Exams and Study Guide by Wasim Asghar. The approach taken by Mr. Asghar for these books was perfect for something like the FE Exam. There is no text, explanations, or fluff. What you get with these four books is about 730 problems in total, which sharpen the skills needed to excel on the FE Exam. In addition to the Asghar materials, I also sprung the $200 for the Lindeburg book, and I literally only opened it once. Lindeburg's approach is to teach all of the concepts and theories, but the FE exam is taken by engineers who have already learned this material. What we need is an extensive set of problems with good solutions to get re-acquainted with the material, and Wasim Asghar's books provide just that. I personally supplemented these books with a few good YouTube channels to fill in some gaps that I had (Raiya Energy Academy for Electrical & Computer concepts, Gregory Michaelson for Probability & Statistics and Engineering Economics). Add to that the incredible customer service provided by Mr. Asghar, and purchasing these books becomes a no-brainer. On multiple occasions I emailed Mr. Asghar with questions that I had on certain problems and he replied within a day with an explanation, and detailed, handwritten solutions. He even emailed me on the day of my exam to ask me how it went, and then followed up with me when I received my results, with suggestions on the next steps, getting registered with the board, and beginning preparation for the PE exam. All of that being said, please don’t think that the FE exam is going to be exactly like these problems. The problems on the actual exam are stated in a much more abstract way than they are on these books. The problems in Wasim’s materials are stated in a straightforward way, where you know exactly what the problem is asking. Think of these problems as drills, exercising the skills needed to execute on the actual exam. If you master these materials, you will have all of the tools needed to perform on the exam. On exam day, you will need to use your engineering judgment and critical thinking skills to interpret the problem statements, weed out the un-necessary information, and determine which “tool” in your toolbox you need to use for the problem. But, Wasim Asghar’s materials absolutely provide you with all of those tools.

Great exam practice. Wasim’s tests are clear and straight forward. Very similar to the actual FE exam. Following are my suggestion to help pass your FE exam: 1. Wasim’s study guide 2. Wasim’s exam 1, exam 2, and exam 3. 3. Youtube videos 4. NCEES practice exam. I follow the steps, solved every single problem in the study guide, solved each exam twice, watched and solved Youtube video’s, and solved NCEES practice exam. I found the actual exam to be straight forward and felt like I’ve seen all the problems. My background and higher education also helped me pass the exam. Highly recommended.

I passed on the first try when I took the test on December 18/2021. Here is what I did : 1- I took the online course by Wasim 2- I bought Wasim's FE latest edition study guide. 3- I bought all the three practice exams by Wasim. For the first couple months, I watched the lectures in the online course in conjunction with solving the problems in the study guide. This will help you refresh the concepts and give you very good insight on what to expect on the exams. He really did a good job covering the exam material in the lecture and the study guide. After that, please purchase all the three practice exams and solve through them. Please make sure you understand the concepts in Wasim's practice exams and the study guide. DON'T memorize the problem. You can expect the same concept Wasim covered, and hence similar type of questions. As long as you understand the concept without memorizing the solution and the problem, you will be in good shape.

This practice book was helpful and insightful. It's a good tool to help prepare for the exam. Also, the other thing about this book is that if you have a question, email the author and he'll get back to you with a full explanation within 24 hours. I took the exam on 12/12 (Monday) and found out that I passed on 12/21 (Wednesday). Let me just say that the actual exam is in between the Lindeburg and this practice exam. The test is no way as easy as this book but some concepts from this book are seen on the exam. It's also worth noting, that the NCEES practice exam is very similar to this practice exam but the actual exam is way more brutal. I recommend this book because I consider it a great resource to pass the exam. The book will be helpful but remember, this book should not be any ones only study material. I studied all three of Wasim's books, the Lindeburg review manual, the NCEES practice exam, and the some practice problems from the older version of the FE exam preparation book.

I graduated college 15 years ago and determined that I needed to take the FE exam to further my career. I purchased the study guide and wanted more practice so I purchased all 3 of Wasim’s exams. The difficult in problems progress from exam #1 to #2 to #3. It tested your ability if you were ready for the real exam. Highly recommended. Also, Wasim was readily available, he responses to emails on the same or next day. I also did a zoom conference to discuss the exam and he provided tips and suggestions.

I recently took the FE electrical and computer exam and passed it in one try. I used Wasim's 3 sample exam and Lindeburg study guide book and sample problem book. If your asking me if the exam is hard my answer is yes if you dont do alot of practice. I solved more than a thousand problem before i took the exam and tried to repeat it 3 times. The reason why wasim's practice exams are recommended is it includes alot of medium to hard problems that will help you bigtime on the exam. It also help me how to deal with objective questions that i struggle sometimes. Buy the 3 exam rather than only the last 2. It will boost your confidence with more problems. Some problems are same but it will test you if you really understand the concept.

Do as many practice exams as you can! This will definitely help with exam preparation.

Absolutely useful and must-have item for your FE prep. I passed the FE exam with the new format in July 2017 in first attempt. The questions are harder than the # 1 but in my opinion the challenging questions let you think more under the time pressure, which is typical in FE exam.

This book is really helpful. I practised it and passed the test.
