Best protractor for land nav
This is a very sturdy protractor that doesn’t fade. It holds up under the harshest of conditions.

if you have used these, the same old jazz, improvements, plastic quality, corners are rounded not sharp, and the inserts are clean. i plan to buy 2 more for some young men i'm going to teach to navigate using the military style since it is easiest and less apt to error

Excellent for Map and Compass Navigation Planning
Excellent for Map and Compass Navigation Planning, having 1:25k/250k, 1:50k, and 1:100k roamers. Note this does not have a 1:24k roamer. Protractor has rounded corners, and is marked in Mils on outermost edge, then degrees, and then back-azimuth degrees as well. Another useful feature is a Declination Diagram to remind for correction for Grid to Magnetic North (Map to Compass - LARS, Left Add, Right Subtract or WAvES, West Add, East Subract) and the opposite correction, from Magnetic to Grid North (Compass to Map). This last graphic feature is a useful reminder when using Map and Compass together for planning or location determination.

Just like what we used in the military.
I’ve been looking for a good land nav ruler and this thing is so good I had flashbacks to the dreaded land nav courses from my decades in the military. A must have for proper land nav. It even reminds you how to use the declination diagram! Win!

Good tool
This is a pretty good tool. It looks like it will last. The markings are dark and clear. My only problem is the numbers are so tiny I have to carry my eye glasses.
