Would this brush be good , if it was stationary, for boot cleaning ?

I don't think so. The bristles are pretty hard and rough, so it might scratch boots.

The item says it comes with a wooden handle but I see no hole to screw a pole onto the brush...why not?

It's not a push brush. The wooden handle is what you use to hold it, as seen.

Can this be used for suede

This brush may be too harsh for suede, unless you used a light hand. These bristles are a stiff, man-made plastic that could damage to your suede.

Looking for a good scrub brush to assist in cleaning my outdoor deck. Are the bristles so stiff that they would scratch and damage the wood?

In the name of science, I should take my brush out back now and give a go at a test patch deck cleaning. But, my recliner calls. I can report the bristles are not a natural fiber. They are stiff and don’t bend. If used with excessive pressure, they would leave track marks in the wood. Whatever the bristles are made of, probably some sort of plastic, they are seemingly indestructible, though I’ve never used the brush around heat or chemicals. If you use a light hand, your deck shouldn’t get damaged, but take a look at other options, too. The best to you.
