the adapter works, the material look good, it has a metal chasse, and the inner holes fits existing UAE electrical wall box.

A simple and cheap solution for single socket conversion to double.
A simple way to convert a single socket to a double without having to cut into plaster and brick. Works very well, requiring only a screwdriver and a double socket (with power off, of course!). Leaves the socket proud of the wall, so not quite as neat as cutting out and then fitting a new double socket box, but much quicker with less mess.

Does the job.
I had a block extender in an airing cupboard that, with plug fitted, stuck out quite a way into the cupboard. I could have left as is, I could have changed to a double pattress/socket as it was in plasterboard but as I'd previously bought a double socket I opted for the easy fix without cutting away plasterboard and realised the existing single socket fixings would be a good anchor for the new parts. First: Chuck away the supplied screws for mounting the facia socket option, they're too short and only suited for thin insulating card. Second: You'll find, like I did, the existing cables cannot be pulled to a length suitable to reach the new facia socket option. I had to extend these, including the earth, using suitable cable and connectors. This is not a design fault but just down to luck with what you find. Third: Feed cables through (need I say power has to be isolated, if doubt get an electrician to fit) and make sure this fits flat to the wall. It's secured by 2 screws to the original pattress by use of the metal square plate. My only gripe was the square fixing plate has 2 fixings across the diagonal and this can cause some wobble across the diagonal so why not fit 4 in each corner? You can adjust the screws in the metal square part if required to help level it on the wall, I also found that if using a cutout to feed a cable into the pattress you can slacken these to allow an easier fit of the cable into said pattress. Fourth: Check there's no wobble, adjust screws to suit and then wire up to the new facia socket and finally push facia onto pattress/adaptor and secure with screws. The facia socket can be any double type. Eg X2 240Vac mains sockets or similar. In my case I used one with a single 240Vac and a switched output cable to supply a fused/RCD extension wall socket. Overall good value for money, did not crack, even when I cut out for a cable entry. When screws were adjusted properly the wobble (uneven walls in an airing cupboard) disappeared.

Sturdy and well made.
Good sturdy construction. Like the rear metal plate to give a bit of flex and pull tight down and then also secure with additional screws as per usual surface mount patress. Excellent.
