Do the flexible venturi hoses "stretch" out? How long are they minimum to maximum?

Minimum is aprox 4 inches,Max is aprox 9 inches.It seems to work well.

what is the front to back measurement? We need around 8", maybe a bit more. Thank you

"eye ball" measurement 8". It fits my 12" base grill. I installed it months ago and have lava rocks over it so I took a measurement over the rocks. It's really close 8"
