Real quality down jacket.
Perfect size, warm, comfy and real quality with down filled feathers. Hood isn’t too large like other brands, nice size with a stiffened peak. Can’t go wrong with Rab, not the cheapest but you get what you pay for and more.

Coat
Great little coat. Son went hiking up one of the mountains in Wales 1st Feb and he said though coat was lightweight it kept he lovely and warm. He does like the Rab range. Perfect fit and comfortable to wear

Snug, warm & lightweight.
Excellent jacket. Rab produce a great range of outdoor clothing and this Microlight Alpine Down Jacket is no exception. I purchased a Small and it fits perfectly. I’d say it’s a slim fitting. Warm enough for a British Winter, don’t really need an Article Expedition Parka in the U.K. Good hood, useful outside breast pocket and ‘toggles’ where you need them. Overall really pleased, highly recommended.

Love, It - Feels Like A High-Quality Product
I bought my first down jacket a year ago and, because I wasn't sure if it was the sort of thing I'd like I bought an inexpensive one from a different brand with a view to buying a higher-quality jacket later on. This Rab jacket was the higher-quality purchase and the difference between the two is immediately noticeable - in the fit, the "feel" of it and in appearance. Very warm and cozy and reasonably water-resistant, ideal for my needs. Very pleased :)

Light weight good quality
My first rab jacket. Really comfy to wear, feels like good quality. Keeps me nice and warm. I would buy rab again. Only negative is that some of the inside feathers from the inner lining seem pop out. I'm losing feathers!

Shocking
Brought a waterproof coat for my holiday to end up just getting wet the whole time being there, the coat didn’t last a day before the water was soaking into my under clothes

Lightweight
This jacket is lightweight and comfortable. Not waterproof at all so an outer layer is essential. It’s not as warm as I’d expected from a Rab jacket which is a shame. Ideal for putting on as an extra layer to warm up, especially after changing out of wet clothes from hiking in the rain.

Lightweight, Reliable, and Surprisingly Warm — Tested on the W & O Circuits in Patagonia
I bought the RAB Men's Microlight Alpine Down Jacket specifically for a multi-week trip to Torres del Paine National Park where I completed both the W and O circuits, and it exceeded my expectations in almost every condition Patagonia can throw at you. The biggest strength of this jacket is its versatility. I used it as an active insulation layer during cold mornings and windy hikes, and also as a compact warmth layer during breaks and at camp. Temperatures ranged from near freezing in the mornings to strong wind exposure throughout the day, especially near Paso John Gardner, and the jacket consistently retained heat without feeling bulky. What impressed me most was how well it works under a shell. The fit is athletic and low-profile, so it layers perfectly without restricting movement or trapping too much heat. The hood design is excellent in strong wind and stays secure without limiting visibility. Packability is another major advantage. The jacket compresses down very small in a backpack and quickly regains loft after being packed for hours. On long trekking days this made a huge difference because weather changes constantly in Torres del Paine. The Pertex Quantum outer fabric feels light but still durable enough for backpacking and repeated use with straps. It handled abrasion and daily trekking very well. I would still recommend a waterproof shell for prolonged rain, but for cold wind, dry conditions, and intermittent moisture it performs extremely well. Pros: Excellent warmth-to-weight ratio Very compact and easy to pack Great fit for layering Comfortable hood in high wind Breathes better than many down jackets during movement Cons: Not fully waterproof in sustained rain Slightly premium price, but justified by performance After completing both circuits with this jacket, I can confidently say it’s one of the best lightweight down jackets I’ve used for serious trekking and alpine travel. Highly recommended for hiking, backpacking, and cold-weather layering.

Hole opened up on 2nd wearing
Very disappointed with this item. A hole opened up on the 2nd wearing while taking a short walk in the city. I have reached out to Amazon who directed me to Backcountry who directed me to Rab and am still waiting on resolution. They want to charge me for a repair and shipping on what was clearly a defective item. Would not purchase from Backcountry or Rab again.
