As long as you have a usb c port in the machine it should work. I’ve used it on multiple models.

is this compatible with the E15 thinkpad?

Yes, to an extent-- but it depends on the generation of your Thinkpad. I have the E15 Gen 2 and it only has a USB-C Gen 1 port, which limits the amount of peripherals you can plug in and run simultaneously. For example, I have two 1440p monitors at my desk at work. I am only able to plug one of them into this dock, and the other monitor has to plug directly into the HDMI port on my laptop because it is limited to 5gbps, unlike the 40gbps that Thunderbolt 3 allows.
