Latin Percussion LP234A Standard Afuche Cabasa

I am pleased with the quality and sound of this cabasa. I decided to buy one after hearing and trying one out at a jam session. I'm not a professional percussionist but enjoy playing a cajon and other percussion instruments to help set a beat during sessions. This instrument was within my price range and after a little research I bought it based on reviews. It adds variety to my sessions. There is a slight learning curve and a little practice to achieve a consistent smooth sound but within a few days I got the hang of simple repetitive sounds. The cabasa I tried at the jam session was slightly larger, 40 years old, did produce a better sound, but cost the owner way more than the current $29 price of this one. I think this one could be better with looser bead strings but there is no easy way to adjust them. I think with looser beads it would be easier to accomplish certain movements to produce different sounds. I know the beads won't loosen with age and use but maybe as I get used to playing it I can become better at replicating the moves I saw on YouTube instructional videos. I still believe it to be worth 5 stars as the quality and sound work for the purpose I bought it for. If I was a professional and using this in recordings or stage performances I would probably spend a lot more and try out various instruments before purchasing. If this is your first introduction to this type of instrument, as it was for me, I don't think you'll be disappointed choosing this one.

I expect LP to made well& stand up to the bumps and bruises of professional play, with smooth movement. It appears to be more expensive than others that are available, but my old one lasted for many years( it was taken)so I assume this one will be worth the expense

"El instrumentos" me llaman en mi familia. Me da el volunto y me obsesiono con un instrumento hasta que lo compro o me cambia la obsesión por otro si es que el primero es muy caro. Y como este no era muy caro, pues me lo compré. Y la verdad es que es flipante los sonidos y los ritmos que se le puede sacar. O al menos eso es lo que veo en los videos, porque como no tengo mucho tiempo para trastearlo, le he podido sacar poco partido. Pero ya llegará el día en que lo pueda meter en alguna canción y le pueda decir a mi mujer "¿Lo ves? Por eso me lo compré". La construcción es de alta calidad, igual que los materiales, y a pesar de ser el modelo pequeño, suena de escándalo. No tiene pinta de que vaya a desmontarse con el uso y los acabados son muy buenos. Pero vamos que eso ya me lo imaginaba, porque esta marca tiene siempre buena calidad. Recomendado 100%
