Perixx PERIBOARD-426, Compact Wired USB Mini Keyboard, QWERTY UK Layout, Lightweight Design, Ideal for Home and Office Use, Multimedia Keys, Black

Received today and typing review with this wired keyboard, a good way to try it out! So far so good so will see how reliable it lasts compared to my previous old tough Perixx! It is a beautiful size and nice and quiet which is good for night use especially when it is after all a backlit keyboard. Decided to upgrade my previous old Perixx wired keyboard with built in touchpad which I've had for years and still working fine although it wasn't backlit. It has three levels of backlight. I've just noticed it does not have number lock, which is fine as I never did use it and often turn it off in BIOS / keyboard anyway as it can be a nuisance when typing passwords and accidentally getting numbers instead of letters. At least with this keyboard, I don't have to worry about what BIOS settings are if using on various devices. I can't tell whether the letters on keyboard are screen printed or properly etched through so time will tell if the paint wears off and the letters become blurred or not. At this price point I'm guessing printed. We'll see... I do love the size and it's not too light that it feels cheap. If all goes well reliability wise, I might get another as a spare. Would be great if Perixx made a similar version, just as small but with added numeric keypad. That would be ideal! Having typed this review on day 1, it doesn't look like it has missed a keypress so far...

En general contento con el teclado. Quería algo pequeño para poder ponerlo junto a mi laptop y frente a la pantalla adicional para no tener que "desnucarme" cada vez que escribía algo mientras veía a la pantalla auxiliar pero que no estorbe. Para mí ha sido una excelente elección; además como he dicho, por las teclas suaves al presionar y sin mucho ruido.

I bought this keyboard because I had to return the one I bought previously, which was just awful! I am so pleased I went for this one. Keys are easy to use and have enough movement that you know you've pressed them properly. The Caps Lock and Number Lock, etc. lights are very clear to see (not the case with other makes). It's light in weight and so very portable and easy to fit in a bag. The only negative is that I have to use it with the little support legs out, because it can move about on desks if not.

Au bout de 3 mois d'utilisation, les touches les plus utilisées (SHIFT, CTRL, A, etc.) commencent à coincer légèrement, à devenir plus difficile à enfoncer. Très déçu.

This is a very well built backlit keyboard, it has a really nice black matte design, it's very well built and feels sturdy yet keeping a sleek design so looks great on the desktop. The typing experience is great, I have big hands and still find it really comfortable despite its reduced size but the fact that it doesn't have the numeric keypad makes it the perfect size for me so the mouse sits really close to the keyboard and not forcing weird postures that might cause any arm/shoulders/neck/back pain. PROS: • 4 Brightness levels: Can be cycled by pressing Fn + F8 (high, medium, low, off). • Wired keyboard: No need to charge it as other bluetooth keyboards. • Perfect size: No numeric pad, no insert/home/etc, desk space-saver. • UK Layout with big Enter/Intro key: Others come with US layout (thin Enter/Intro key, tricky to hit). • Easy-to-find key printings: Really easy to locate any character or symbol. Others have smaller prints. • Fn Key: comes with Fn (function key) to activate F1, F2, etc... Others stripped this key. • Long USB cable 1.5m (150cm). CONS: • Short legs: As most of keyboards out there, its has very short legs so the keyboard height/typing angle is not adequate even with the legs extended, so I've place a couple of things to rise it to my desired setting no big deal. I'm very happy with this keyboard and at this price range is unbeatable, totally recommended and I'd buy it again!
