LumiLux Toilet Light with Motion Detection Sensor - 16-Color LED Bathroom Toilet Bowl Light (White)

I know there are less expensive units and, even though this is the only unit I've owned, I can't imagine the others work as well as this one. I'm the type who'd rather spend a little more for something that lasts and works well than repeatedly buy lesser quallity products. I'm a disabled man who can't stand while using the toilet. I purchased this product due to my bad habit of getting up in the middle of the night and using the bathroom without turning on the light. However I often didn't aim well when I went to sit down, the result of which can be chilling if not dangerous. This product has been a blessing and has definitely improved my life. The product works just as described, the motion sensor works perfectly, I allow it to morph from color to color, and it turns off shortly after I exit. As to power consumption, I purchased this unit on 11/14/17 and just had to replace the batteries for the first time on 5/23/18. I now consider this product a necessity for my needs but, even if I didn't, it's much more pleasant to use the bathroom at night because I avoid the shock I'd experience from my bathroom's bright lighting and can get back to sleep more quickly afterward as a result. If you're considering this type of product, I highly recommend this one. 5/17/19 UPDATE: Received notice from Amazon re: the no. of helpful votes I've gotten for this product. Decided to read some of the reviews and felt I should update mine. I'm on my 3rd set of batteries and haven't experienced any of the issues set out in the negative reviews I read. Mine's as solid and works as well as the day it was purchased, 11/14/17. All products have a failure rate but mine hasn't hit it's yet. 1/7/21 UPDATE: Getting ready to change batteries so thought to update review to say it's still working great! Almost 3 yrs. use and still love it. 4/22/24 UPDATE: Still going strong! Excellent product, money well spent!

Let me start by saying that I have owned several of these toilet lights over the past two years. All have failed at some point. When these kinds of lights were first introduced, I jumped on board and bought the only brand available. It was junk. As more Chinese companies began making their versions, I bought replacement after replacement only to have those fail as well. Some of the real cheap ones had suction cups that attached the sensor to the toilet, Those always fell off. Other has really thin hangers to hang the sensor on the side of the bowl. Those would always fall off because the hanger arm was just too flimsy. The last one of these I owned just stopped working because the battery terminals somehow became misaligned and would no longer recognize the batteries inserted into them. Scrambling for a replacement, I came upon this product by LumiLux. What inspired me were the many 4 and 5-star reviews. In fact, as of this review posting, the overall review satisfaction stands at 90%. You won't see that on competing products. I didn't mind paying a little more for the LumiLux. It's true, you get what you pay for! I could immediately see that this was a better-constructed product than all the previous models I had owned before. The best aspect of this product is its attachment arm. It's not flimsy. It actually has a nice, strong bend that allows the sensor to be firmly held in place. Unlike the cheaper brands, this one gives you 16 color choices, a color cycling option, and even brightness settings. Been using this for several weeks now and it performs flawlessly. It won't come on when the bathroom light is on. It properly senses movement in the bathroom and automatically turns on the light then turns it off soon after I leave the room. In other words, it works as expected. While I still feel that this is one of the most unsanitary products you can buy, its overall appeal and effectiveness make that notion less concerning. If you are going to buy a light for your toilet, don't go cheap. I would spend a bit more money and go with the LumiLux.

I bought this light in 2021 and have appreciated how nice it is to have a nightlight for the bathroom that is activated by a motion detector and doesn’t need to be plugged into an outlet. The unit worked flawlessly since then with just the need to replace batteries occasionally. Recently new batteries didn’t help so I contacted the manufacturer regarding the lifetime warranty and was really impressed with how quickly they responded to my inquiry and how fast they sent a replacement light. This is a quality product and company!

I researched a number of different brands online, and this one clearly had the best reviews, so I bought one for each of the bathrooms in my house. I've had them connected to my toilets the last 3 days, and they seem to be working just fine. I gave it 4 stars instead of 5 for two reasons: 1. A couple of the colors are a little bland.... a handful really do "pop" which are awesome, but a few are just a little dull. I assume the competitors have the same problem. 2. The devices don't fit that well to my toilets. Admittedly, the rims of my toilets are bit wider on the sides, but I wish the little arm with the light at the end was a couple of inches longer so it would really fit snug. Because the arm is short, I have to place it near the front of the toilet where the rim is narrower - a part of the toilet that is probably the least sanitary and in the "dribble drop zone" ;) I've already received a couple of emails from the company making sure the lights work properly, and told me if I have any issues, they will take good care of me, so the customer service is A+ which goes a long way in my book! All in all, I'm satisfied with this product!

Prior to obtaining this beauty, I had a cheaper model made by some no-name fly-by-night concern. It conked out, as it was bound to do, and I ordered this one because it was recommended by Amazon. When I unpacked it, I immediately noticed the unit was built stronger than my old one. The design is clearly water resistant and can be easily wiped clean. The batteries are double As instead of triple As, which to me means longer life. It is also significantly brighter than my old one; making it an effective night light. It comes with clearly detailed instructions of its setup and use, but, since the process was intuitive, I didn't bother with them. OK, so why buy this one instead of any of the dozen others that are offered? Here's why: A few days after it arrived, I received an email from Upper Echelon Products asking me to review the product. I replied to that email that I was generally happy with the new light, but that it flickered when displaying some colors. I was surprised a day or two later to see that Amazon was shipping me another one, free of charge. I hadn't noticed that this unit carried a lifetime warranty. It wasn't even a big enough issue to me to request a replacement, but their representative took the initiative to ensure that I was happy with my purchase. So, here is your challenge. What other uses can you contrive to add a bit of color or safety to your life? It could easily be hung on a stair railing support to light up the stairs as you pass. Hang it on the side of your aquarium to provide an impromptu light show for your fish as you pass by in the night. If you stuck it up one side of your nose, you could probably see into the nasopharynx on the alternate side. The potential uses are limited only by your creativity and imagination. You get all of this and a lifetime warranty too.

The product arrived faster than expected and even though I've had it for a day, here are my initial thoughts: Pros: Item came well packaged with easy to follow instructions. Unit requires (3) AAA batteries (not included). The light housing seems to be very sturdy and durable, the flexible light is easy to manipulate but firm enough to stay where you want it. The light has several different options for colors. Out of the box it is set to cycle through the 16 colors, changing colors very smoothly about every 3-4 seconds, however you can set it to just one color if you'd like. The light is very bright, and also has a dimmable option so you can make it less bright if you'd like. The motion sensor works very well, almost too well. Every time I walked by the bathroom the light would come on even if I just walked by the bathroom without going in. I solved this by just closing the bathroom door. Now when the door opens, the light comes on and there is no need for me to turn on overhead lights and blind myself in the middle of the night. Cons: Nothing really to complain about, item works pretty great. ONLY thing that may be a con is that the motion sensor will pick up motion 10 feet away, (maybe more, i haven't tested the distance). This causes the light to come on just when going down the hallway. This is not really a con per se, but could wear down battery life faster.

These toilet lights are terrific!

Not working so well for me. Not sure why there are so many perfect reviews for it, but I think they need to redo the motion detection and the battery usage on this, unless I just got a defective unit. When it's dark and there's nobody in the bathroom, it's lit up constantly throwing a party for no one, wasting batteries. As soon as anyone walks in, it stops, due to the bathroom lights being turned on, and nobody gets to party, and now it's just a weird useless thing sitting on the side of your toilet, impressing nobody. I know that the last part is how it was designed on purpose, which I think should be at least an option for those who want it to actually light up when it senses motion regardless of the bathroom light. Consequently, it did not last as long as it's advertised, it died in less than 6 months, and what's worse, the Energizer batteries were leaking acid when I tried to replace them, seems like it's not drawing current properly. I do also realize that this one has a much improved handle over other ones and I do like the color and brightness settings on it, hence 2 stars, but overall it's pretty disappointing. By the way, definitely get the $120 professional installation that Amazon offers for it, it's worth it, putting all 4 batteries in the correct plus/minus direction can be pretty confusing and if you get it wrong on the first try you surely don't want to have to spend another 10 seconds redoing them, save yourself the trouble and let experts handle it. Edit: Bumped up by a star, Upper Echelon contacted me after this review and provided an excellent customer service, they issued me a refund and sent a replacement to try. I cannot comment on the batteries leak or life expectancy issue yet, but the new unit does seem to be turning on less when nobody is in the bathroom due to being more sensitive to light, which fixes one issue but amplifies another, as now it needs to be even darker for it to turn on in the first place. Again, I believe that making an option to not react to or depend on light would eliminate this issue and make for a better product. Also, I think it's a bit odd that so many people seem to dislike this review, who are they and why do they mark it as not helpful. Edit 2: The new replacement unit died quickly as well, 3 AA batteries on this little LED device lasted only a couple of months, it must be drawing some serious current, but it also seems to stay on constantly in the dark even when there's no motion, at least this time the batteries didn't leak acid. And of course it's still very sensitive to light, if any little amount of light falls on it then it will not turn on. So basically it's ON when you don't need it and OFF when you want it, its only purpose is to serve as a nightlight with a broken motion detection mechanism that you have to constantly replace.

Stopped working after 6 months and neither the seller nor manufacturer are willing to help. FYI, the product is sold with a LIFETIME warranty in the US.

Licht in de duisternis bij bezoek aan het klein kammetje !!!

L'utilisation de ce produit est vraiment une bonne expérience pour ceux qui ne veulent pas être ébloui par une lumière blanche en pleine nuit en allant aux WC. La détection de mouvement est parfaite de nuit, de jour rien ne se passe. Il remplit à merveille sa fonction. Il est possible de bloquer l'appareil sur une couleur défini et c'est vraiment bien, sans quoi vous aurez droit au mode arc en ciel ce qui je trouve n'a aucun sens...Mais ce n'est que mon avis personnel. La documentation est vraiment légère mais à le mérite d'être là. Je recommande.
