ScanSnap iX1300 Compact Wireless or USB Double-Sided Color Document, Photo & Receipt Scanner with Auto Document Feeder and Manual Feeder for Mac or PC, White

Did my research and decided on the ScanSnap iX1300 and I am very happy with this purchase. The scanner is small, unobtrusive, easy to set up, I ran a 10-page test document within minutes of unpacking the scanner. Excellent page feeder, no snags, beautiful scan quality. This is saving me so much time during the busy work seasons. Note: I am a Mac user and some reviews stated it was difficult to set up and glitchy. I did not experience any of that, it has been working smoothly since Day 1.

I have had this scanner for about 6 months. it is fast and easy to use. The best feature and why I brought it was for the duplex scanning which is very fast. I have used the scanner feature of ink jet copy and scanners for long time and after various issues I decided to get a standalone. the first one (different vendor) didn't work so I was suspect on another one. Nevertheless I got this one. in addition to the scanning abilities, the footprint is small and doesn't take up a large space. About a month ago my computer stopped working during a scan. after several attempts to restart and had to call the service desk for help. The operator was very very patient and worked to get me started again. Therefore the product as well as the service is outstanding.

This has by far been the best scanner I’ve ever used. Working in accounting, I have to scan documents in various sizes (ranging from fast station receipts to legal-sized contracts), and this scanner can handle it all. The front manual feeder is perfect for those longer receipts or cards, and the automatic top feeder is great for stacks of papers. The scan quality is crisp and clear like if you had typed the document yourself and exported it to a PDF. The ScanSnap software saves me so much time by auto-naming files based on the information scanned (perfect for receipts to differentiate card numbers!). This file naming system is clever and accurate in the data pulled. The only time I have to manually adjust the name of a file is if a pre-selected field doesn’t exist on the document scanned (e.g., including the last 4 digits of the card used in the file name, but a receipt not having that info). I hate cords, so this scanner having wireless connectivity is perfect for my needs. Once it’s connected, it stays connected and there is no delay in the transfer from the scanner to my computer. The value for your money couldn’t be better. I would argue that this smaller scanner is even better than the more expensive version just given the manual front feeder, let alone the price of this unit. I’ve seen some other reviews about this scanner not working or only connecting to a single computer at a time and can confirm it is user error; I share this scanner with a colleague and we can both use it with ease throughout the day. You can’t go wrong with this scanner!!!

I purchased this product for the insurance side of our medical practice. They scan a lot of documents throughout the day, all day, every day. Their old scanner just died out after many years so we opted to replace with this one. For ease of writing and reading, I will just list some pros and cons here. Pros: - The scanner is small. Not too small to scan things normally but very compact, which is ideal for their very busy workspace. - It scans quite well. Once we jumped some hurdles in set up (will dive into below), the scanner has been great! It scans very quickly, the image quality is always great, and the software is relatively easy to use (ONCE IT IS SET UP PROPERLY) - It is quiet, quick, and to me, fun to watch! The scanner sends your paper on a gymnast course which can just be fun for me to watch! (video included) Cons: - The set up was a bit of a headache. Part of that is on our end with our computers. The other part of that is the lack of instructions to troubleshoot during set up. I ended up on the phone with their support as well as our IT trying to get it set up. It took 4 days of phone calls to get that working. I don't feel as though it should be *that* difficult to connect a scanner and get it working. - A week or two after we got it all set up, it stopped scanning. It would only accept manual feed, which is not a great option for our busy medical practice. Again, multiple days on the phone with support and IT. Turns out, the sensor needed cleaned. Again, not a big deal, I just don't feel like it should take days to troubleshoot and fix something so simple. - Only one user can scan at once. Now this doesn't seem like a problem but if someone else pulls up the ScanSnap software, the other person is then booted out of being able to scan. It's not a big problem, more of a nuisance than anything else. All in all, it gets the job done. If you are a pro at set up, know scanners in and out, or are just a patient person - you will have no problems with this. Like I said, this could be mostly attributed to our computers and others may not have had these issues! Once all is working well, it is a great scanner!

Amazing scanner! It works out of the box, download a software and ready to go. I had about 40 booklets (about 30 pages each front and back) that I needed to digitize. I took them apart, set them in the scanner and it took half a minute to scan the whole book, page by page in order, both front and back at the same time. It was the coolest thing I’ve seen. Got the whole project done before lunch, it is amazing technology!!!

When I installed this unit, it went well. Scans look great, both sides, works quickely. Everything was fine until I left the computer and the system went to sleep. The next time I tried to scan, the scanner power light was on put the scanner was disconnected. Removing and reinserting the USB connecter fixed it and things were fine---until after the machine went to sleep again, at which poin the same things happened. I contacted support, they gave me about 5 things to check or to change in my computer and settings. I did all of these, with no change. I was offered a phone number to (wait on hold and then) talk to support but my time is more valuble than this! I installed a work-around. I bought USB data switch to designed connect 2 devices to one USB port. I put it in-between the scanner and the computer and now can break the connection without moving any cables. In the meantime, I was told that this device does not work with any conventional WIA or TWAIN scanning programs, only with it's own software package. A standard scanning perogram would be a way out of this problem, but it is not allowed.

This is a tip for anyone who treasures photography and their family heritage like our family. I don't do a lot of reviews but this machine is incredible. After extensive research we bought the Scansnap iX1300. It has been FABULOUS! Unfortunately, the project we purchased it for was not such a success, but it has nothing to do with the scanner. Our goal was to scan all the pictures after my father in law passed away. We were looking forward to doing something that would allow the whole family to share in all the events he captured as a military veteran in the Korean War, a caring & loyal husband, loving father, third generation grandparent, a world traveler and an avid photographer for 70 years. We invested in a new scanner to ensure his pictures were cared for as they were efficiently scanned. We were expecting to scan thousands which is why we also purchased enough 32gb sd cards for each grandchild and sibling. We hope spending this time capturing all of these moments in digital form would enable our entire family to share these priceless memories for decades. Unfortunately, this didn't go as planned. This is where my story takes a turn. I don't typically divulge personal information like this but we've been pretty upset trying to manage this family ordeal in the midst of still grieving for one of the most respectable men I've ever had the privilege of knowing. This is a bit irrational for me being the type of person that tends to follows the rules. My husbands sister basically turned "evil" after named the Executor. Once she got her siblings to sign off om the will you'd thinks she was just crowned queen. She was one of those kids who just never learned how to play nice in the sandbox. We were grateful when she "allowed" my husband to bring home several framed pictures off his wall for us to scan but the boxes and boxes of photos we know he accumulated over the years disappeared very quickly from his home never to be seen again along with several other very heartfelt and meaningful personal items. What is most unfortunate is the fact that his remaining grandchildren as well as NONE of his great, and great great grandchildren will ever be able to share in thentreasured mementos of our family patriarch. So here's my tip... Leave a list of all the personal items you want to go to each person. If you have a favorite hobbubyoi share with certain family members, if you have more than one child or grandchild please for the love of your family members and heritage write in your will that all pictures are to be scanned and shared with your entire family but a neutral person. Just in case you don't realize you have one of these entitled, selfish children and don't know it. Grief does crazy things to people and brings every moment of sibling rivalry bubbling to the surface in an instant. This kind of vindictive behavior gives off "bully vibes" in the worst possible way cause people like this aren't just taking lunch money. They are keeping some of his most precious moments, prized possessions & small pieces of family history lucky enough to be captured on film from being passed down through the family. My heart actually hurts to see someone be so selfish. Especially because our Dad was so respectful, loyal and loving. All his family, time in the military, college, siblings and eventually a full life with my mother-in-law, all their cherished pictures and all the travels am moment captured with our Step mom and family. These pictures are a piece of him, the fabric of who he was, as the man behind the lense consistently asking for just one more. Photography was his hobby, a major factor in his career, his travels, his life, his family and part of who is was a person. I even offered to come over and scan each picture in her presence. ¯⁠\⁠_⁠(⁠ツ⁠)⁠_⁠/⁠¯ Don't let this happen when leaving behind your legacy. Throughout lising several family members in my life I've seen more disagreements over photos than I have money. It truly is "all the little things" that make the biggest difference in the end. This is by far one of the best Scanner both for USB to laptop or Wifi scanning to laptop. Even scan directly to the Evernote desktop app (Apple MacBook Pro). I am an Evernote user and have been using the discontinued super old iX1100 scanner that lasted me 15+ years. It was time to get a new scanner. This time, I wanted the additional WiFi scanning capability and double-sided scanning for a faster archiving process. I first tried the Epson ES-60W and ES-300W. Both models were impossible to set up the WiFi scanning feature. I tried at least 6x for each printer including following both the app setup guide and the troubleshooting guide. Returned both models. Got the Fujitsu ScanSnap iX1300 and first off, this baby is gorgeous looking (got the white version) with so many delightful features I did not expect I needed!! I love the following features: -when lifting the top paper tray, then push the tray back a bit, the extender paper holder will automatically move up 90 degrees. -auto-feed, and return scan, you will need space to feed the paper in front of the printer -the U-Turn scan, when you insert a piece of paper to scan on the top loader tray, press the scan button, the paper starts the scan process feeding into the scanner then the front paper tray automatically pops up delightfully to hold the return of the scanned paper. This is an amazing feature, you no longer need space in front or behind the scanner to feed your paper. This is one of the best scanning features I have seen. Thanks Fujitsu!!! I can watch this magic all day long >_< -and of course the WiFi scanning directly to my Evernote app on my laptop...Woot woot. This feature alone saves me so much time scanning all of my receipts and documents. -the paper tray with the paper tray extender is a nice feature -Setup was a breeze. Super easy. -Took less than 10 mins to set up and ready to go. -After setting up the USB scanning, I then opt to also set up for WiFi scanning and that was super easy. -The ScanSnap app setup the WiFi and auto-configures all of the WiFi settings. I did not have to input anything manually. Awesome. The printer is cleverly designed and I so much appreciate the thoughtfulness of the feature-rich function and the practicality of the product. A huge plus for the super easy ScanSnap setup and scanning software. I suspect this model will last me at least another 10-15+ years :)

This is a wonderful small but powerful scanner that substantially speeds up the scanning process. Its sheet feeder rapidly processes documents and scans both sides of the paper in one pass. It automatically will detect text and rotate the pages so that they are right side up and even do optical character recognition on them to make searchable PDFs. You can quickly scan photographs with the single sheet slot at the front bottom. So much faster than using a flatbed scanner or even a multifunction printer/scanner with document feeder. This unit is so much faster.

Setup was easy. I have a windows desktop. I did USB connection. Downloaded the software after googling it. I just went through 300 pages in no time. This was amazing to see how it took on so many pages in little effort. I also didn't have to tell it that the papers were double sided, it just knew. I haven't tried any other scanner but as a first time experience, this was perfect.
