A great intro/tutorial!
This was a very nice tutorial on getting started with Arduino controllers. I'd suggest buying the Make Electronics as a companion. Even if you've never done anything like this before, these books will getbyou started!

Not for the casual beginner.
On first opening the book I was rather put off. The book is poorly written and disorganized. I am fairly knowledgeable of computer programming and electronics and i got lost right away. Many of the paragraphs jump between simple concepts and right into technical terms about the Arduino without any explanations tying the ideas together. I will be going to the examples and using the hands on approach to learning what is in the book.

Ok for beginners!
Pros: it is a great book for beginners at Arduino (it is not, and shouldnโt be a โhow to programโ book. Cons: Explanation of breadboards is in an appendix, which I didnโt see until much later. Wouldโve been nice to be reminded of that at the beginning of the book (say it! NOOB!). Some projects require hardware (I.e., the Lamp) that you wonโt have on hand.

I wish I got this book first
This is the book I should have purchased first. I tried a book claiming "no experience needed," but it was so poorly written and obviously assumed you knew things about the arduino and microcontrollers that I put it aside about 1/3 of the way through. This book is SO much better. It is well-written and very followable (if that's a word).

Great explanation and introduction
I work with industrial PLCs and components but have always wanted to get into a hobbyist level controller. So, I have an understanding of the relationship between the controller, sensors and actuators yet Iโm still starting from scratch with Arduino and coding with C+ and Processing. The writer of this material has done an amazing job of explaining and easing the reader into this world. Iโve read plenty of manuals for PLCs and there all terrible and labor to get through! Reading this and doing the exercises was a lot of fun and EASY. If youโre serious at all about getting into Arduino and robotics or hobbyists projects that require control, just get this book! It has a a lot of references to online material and gives direction to more advanced projects, so youโll know where to go next!

Good book !
Having bought a couple other books on Arduino, I got this one from my local library and found it more friendly and digestible and decided to buy a copy for myself to keep. YMMV.

A good intermediate book for learning about shields and projects.
Helpful appendix for beginners. Excellent code style. Concise functions and excessive comments. Methodical incremental builds ensure the material is understood. The wireless project was before Arduino Cloud, so you get an extensive example of protocols.

Great Beginners Book
Well laid out book with plenty of examples to start your sketches. Works well with online tutorials and online emulators.

Good starter book
Good book to add to the Arduino book library.

For me, the best starter book.
This is the third edition of this that I have tead and it is still, in my opinion the best introductory text and one that I recommend to my students. It's easy to understand, takes you gently and doesn't - like so many other books, effectively throw you in the deep end. I might suggest getting a starter kit if you haven't got bits already to help you on your journey - after all this is learning by doing. My other suggestion is to get a genuine Ardiuno. While many of the duplicates are fine, some are not and spending that little bit more helps Arduino to continue to develop.
