Can I use this as a root killer in my septic tank? We basically live in the woods.

Flush 2 pounds of granular copper sulfate down the toilet for every 300 gallons of water that the septic tank holds. Copper sulfate kills and dissolves tree roots as they absorb the tank's water. After entering a tank, the majority of copper sulfate settles in tank, and little passes into the leach bed line. Also there should be no trees in a 50 foot radius of the system

I have pipes thick/full of stringy roots. Am I better off using the powder form or in crystal form. My pipes are irrigation drains outside.

Wear safety glasses. Take 1.5 cups of rick, .5 cups of flour, and 6 cups of water, and bring to a boil to make a sticky mess. Add 1.5 cup of Copper sulfate and let it dissolve. Take the hot mix and pour it down the toilet and flush. Wait 1-2 minutes and flush again. Don't use water in the house for 4-8 hours, or longer to let the mix get to the roots and stay on them for as long as possible. This will help the copper get drawn into the roots and clog the uptake and then kill the roots in the line. They will break off and get flushed down the line over time.
