My mini aquarium is out of production and the company does not provide replacement parts so this water pump is a godsend. It is so quiet. Whenever I walk by the aquarium I check the live plants to see if they are moving in the water, just so I know the pump is still working. The electrical cord is extremely heavy duty. Because it is thicker than the previous water pump I had to turn the pump body around in the compartment in the aquarium to make enough room for the electrical cord. I have it on the lowest setting and it runs beautifully. I didn't need the higher flow rate but it is quite powerful on the higher settings. I saw a number of complaints in regards to the nozzles. There are actually three. Two are loose in the box and one is on the water pump. I had to remove the one on the pump to put the next size down on so it would fit the poly-carbonate tubing I already had to the output on the aquarium.. Getting the nozzle off the water pump was not easy. I had to use a dull kitchen knife to pry the nozzle out enough that it would loosen when I twisted it off. All in all, I really like this little pump. I plan on purchasing another Tiger Pump 120 GPH as a backup, in case this goes out. I don't expect that to happen anytime soon but with live fish and live plants you cannot afford to be without a pump. I definitely recommend this product to others looking for a submersible pump with power and a small footprint. Review: Perfect for our bird bath/fountain. Compatct size, powerful water flow. - This is a small and powerful unit. You adjust the flow with a small grated valve much like the vents on an auto a/c. We have it on full and the riser hose is apx 1 ft up. We use an old sea-shell to keep the water from squirting too far but still giving us good water flow in Dad's little 'boy being goosed' cement fountain top. The unit is small, maybe 2" square or a little bigger, but it works great and is easy to install at this size, where a larger one would have been a lot more difficult to get situated. We bought a 60gph unit last year and while it worked fine, it did not put enough water out to give a satisfying sound. This larger one is perfect. We got the hose at our local TrueValue hardware store where they have it on rolls and cut off just the amount we needed.

Good value and very reliable
This works great in my fish pond. Not much noise other than the sound of the water bubbling. Since I installed it in the winter, I haven't attached it to the fountain so it just bubbles in the pond, but it has done a great job of keeping the water from freezing so far. The only drawback is that I wish it came with a filter. I used the one from my old pump and secured it with a rubber band since the filter cage wouldn't fit this one. Filter is a necessity with goldfish. Pump works great, though!

This pump is as good as any pump i have used for small fountains
This pump is as good as any pump i have used for small fountains. It has standard pumping power (120 kph) but also allows the user to reduce the output by simply moving a small lever to block the amount of water flow to set the output to the most desirable level. I recently purchased this unit. It is working well. My problem with submersible pumps for my fountain is that i occasionally forget to either refill the fountain or forget to unplug the pump when going out of town. Both result in failure of submersible pumps, which require being in water to keep from overheating. I bought this pump as a replacement for a similarly powered pump that came from the manufacturer of the pump that was included with my purchase of the fountain. I had bought a more powerful pump (200 gph output) and tried that first but the water coming out of the fountain was too great, resulting in splashing that was emptying the fountain in less than 24 hours. Putting this 120 gph pump in its place solved the problem and it has been working well ever since.

Great pump
Tiger Products LLC is an amazing company. This little pump hasworked beautifully the last few days, it was more than affordable and it makes almost no noise (I actually have to completely deaden all other white noise just to hear it). The amount of water it moves is impressive and the cost was amazing. All that said, it would be nice if it had a few of the bells and whistles a few others do, such as being able to run dry without problems. My guess is it can handle running dry for a short time, as the design seems hardy enough, but I am definitely not going to test it when Tiger Products LLC says not to run it dry

Needs better specifications to aid customer selection and better instructions
While the 120 GPH Submersible Pump does properly pump water, is quiet, and is of proper physical size, there is a problem with the pump's outlet size. The pump has an integral 1/2 inch OD outlet. There is no adapter included to convert the pump's outlet OD from 1/2 inch to 3/8 inch. Further, the "adapter" shipped with the pump is 1/2" OD to 5/16" OD. A problem; this makes the adapter's inlet size, 1/2 inch OD, exactly the same size as the pumps outlet...requiring yet another adapter or risking damage to the pump to connect the two. This does not make sense. Perhaps it is a wrong adapter is shipped with the pump. Ideally, the pump should have adapters to interface the 1/2 inch OD outlet with 5/16, 1/4 and 3/8 tubing, common sizes for the intended applications. Inclusion of the pump's head would be helpful to a customer making a selection. Update: 3/8 inch interface problem solved saving the cost of return. The pump's fixed outlet is 1/2 inch diameter and is suitable for 1/2 ID inch tubing; the "small 1/4 inch interface adapter" included with the pump also has a 1/2 inch outside diameter. You can interface the adapter with the pump by removing the 1/2 inch outlet; be brave, use pliers, it will mar the the outlet's finish; and inserting the adapter in its place. No provision esists for 3/8 inch ID tubing. The 3/8 inch tubing interface problem was solved cheaply, using a section of a ball-point pen barrel, one end was inserted in the pump's outlet, the other into the 3/8 inch tubing...use a cheap pen, thinner walls gives better flow. Why couldn't the manufacturer think of that? Summary: Poor choice of adapters, no instructions, no specifications...you are on your own.

Great pump and well built, definitely recommend.
Pump works great and has more power than I would expect from such a small pump. I used it for my phosban 150 reactor. I had used a minimax with it for years but the power cable had a problem and sent electrical current into the water. I won't have to worry about that with this pump, the cable is thick (like what would usually be used on a larger pump) and very sturdy. The adjustable flow is also a great feature, with my application that didn't need such a high flow I was able to slow the flow down at the pump and dial it in using the valve on the reactor.

Not as powerful as other pumps with lower flow rates
Unlike a lot of other reviewers, I wish I could be more positive about this product but for me it just didnโt measure up. This is why this pump did not meet expectations. My old fountain pump was 210 gph, but the flow rate was too strong and produced some splashing. Last week I ordered a new Kedsum submersible water pump Model D08V045E rated at 100 gph from Amazon. The resulting flow rate when installed on my fountain was slightly less than what I wanted so I ordered the Tiger Products 120 gph submersible pump. The Tiger pump did not produce any flow in the fountain. I understand the concept of max head height and apparently the Tiger pump is underrated compared to the Kedsum (maybe vice versa?). Compared side by side the Kedsum and Tiger pumps are identical dimensionally and I could hardly distinguish one pump from the other, except the Tiger pump has a thicker electrical cord. The Tiger pump was roughly twice the price of the Kedsum. I tested the Tiger pump in the kitchen sink afterward and it produced a 6 inch high column using the 1/4 inch adapter fitting. So it was operational. It was also quiet, but so was the Kedsum. Delivery was swift via 2 day Prime. Sorry, but that is my experience with this product.
