Q: Why supply such a lousy battery? It should be at least 2ah and should include the battery meter!

This battery isn't terrible. I am a 30+ yr professional electrician. 10 years ago when the tools were all brushed and used considerable more power 3.0 amp hour was as big as it got. I have 2-1.5 amp hour batteries that have thousands of hours on them with impacts, heavy duty hammer drills, bandsaw, sds drills, circular saws, sanders, etc. I get about 30-45 minutes hardcore drilling in concrete. I have even went through ½" cast steel with a 6" hole saw although that is usually around a 3.0 amp hour. Yes, the batteries are expensive but in the trades world there are really only 2 competitors Dewalt and Milwaukee. There are other brands of battery tools but you just don't see them being used much by pros. If ya want something for home use maybe you'd be better off with a ryobi that is much more affordable.

Yes it will however the battery has only 1.5 amp so for short charge life.

Q: How to modifier it to use for 220v?

The voltage of the charger is 120V. This tool is only designed to work with 120V not 220V or 240V. We do not recommend using an adapter or transformer to force it to work at that voltage.
