Tiny camera, huge protection. Review: Love this dash cam! - The Garmin name is worth the money. Great camera. Very small size, is completely hidden behind rearview mirror. But the splitter so you can plug it directly in to the power supply on the back of your mirror, then you will have no visible wires and it powers on and off with your ignition. However, you can wire directly if you would like it to record even while parked. Quality of the video is great. The voice commands are a very nice added feature. The app works great as well. Make sure you get the correct SD card. Easy to install, runs without thinking and you can just tell it to save video or take a photo and it listens to you. Review: Compact and Reliable Dash Cam - I’ve purchased this dash cam twice, and it continues to impress me with its performance. The compact design makes it easy to install without obstructing my view, and it captures clear video quality, both during the day and at night. The automatic recording feature is a great convenience, ensuring that I have video evidence in case of incidents. I also appreciate the built-in Wi-Fi, which allows for easy video transfer to my phone for sharing or reviewing. Overall, this dash cam offers exceptional reliability and peace of mind on the road, making it a smart investment for any driver.

Love them
I’ve used this product for many years and Even though there are newer versions I still only buy and recommend the 2 mini because of how small and simple it is, only one button on the back so if anything goes wrong your not searching for the record button but it also already has a good auto record with the app being free you can set up the sensitivity for When to record, This has saved me many times during insurance claims.

Compact and easy to install
Great compact dash cam with wide field of view and easy to install. I purchased three units, though one failed after a short time. So far the other two has been without any issues. Nighttime clarity isn’t the best, but acceptable for basic use.

Stops recording videos after a while
I have three cars and I've gotten two generic A119 cameras and never had any problems. They don't have a lot of bells and whistles, like an app that can connect to the camera and view/download the videos, but they've dependably recorded without issues. I got the Garmin for my Porsche, I wanted to be able to view videos on my phone rather than having to take an SD card out and view it on a computer. Even though the generic cameras had no issues, I felt the Garmin would be a more reliable option since it was for my more expensive car. Boy was I wrong, the Garmin worked fine for two months and then would intermittently record. The camera comes on, shows the red light indicating its recording and I can even connect to it, but it won't record videos from some 75% of the the drives unless I manually tell it to record (the manual recording is only meant to record short clips). I went to Garmin's site and followed all the directions to fix this issue, this mainly entails formatting the SD card and making sure the camera is plugged in. Nothing has helped. The worst part of this is that the entire time I thought I was protected in the event there was an accident and here this camera was not doing anything. I am just glad I discovered the issue before something happened. I'm going to go back to the old dependable A119s, the Garmin is garbage.

Refurb is the way to go
Looked brand new when I received. Set up was a breeze. The printed manual is worthless but just download the Garmin app and that makes set up super easy. I mounted this behind my rearview mirror and I can't even see it when I'm driving. Bought the dongle to connect power to my rearview mirror and there are no cables showing. I did have to splice the cable that come with it to make it super short but that took 3 minutes. Just a box cutter and some electrical tape. There's only 1 wire inside to reconnect as it is for power only, not data transfer. Gives a nice audible beep when I turn on my car so I know it's working. No issues with connecting via wifi to view/adjust the camera. App is well done, pretty intuitive and easy to figure out how to save recordings. Will buy another for my other car.

Small and powerful dashcam
When my daughter started driving I became more conscious and aware of the need of having a dashcam so all of a sudden I was in the market for 3 dashcams. After intense review and understanding our needs, I went for this one. A simple yet reliable cam that could provide info for the insurance in case anything happened. I couldn't be happier with the decision. These devices are simple yet useful. Installation was a breeze and mobile app set up as well. Just paired this app with some Micro SD cards and was ready to go. I really like the (simple) voice controls and honestly don't feel I'm missing anything with the lack of a screen. What could be better? Maybe resolution, it is not great for capturing plates. I have seen other Chinese brand dashcams with better resolution but I decided to prioritize brand and reliability with Garmin.

It took a bit of work to get this working on my Garmin Drive app. I had to find troubleshooting instructions online and follow them exactly. When you have Wireless CarPlay in your vehicle, you have to do some extra work to disable that functionality first. The camera itself is discrete but I wish there was a way to turn the Wifi on it on/off so it wouldn’t cause occasional signal issues in your vehicle.

Working well so far. Syncs well and easy to use.

After hours of research I thought the Garmin Mini 2 dash cam would be the bee's knees but sadly I was unable to hook up to the app and unable to use the camera! I did hear and read reviews about the app having some downfalls so hopefully Garmin will be able to fix it !

My only real complaint is that the 6 inch wire has the micro usb in the wrong direction, that's why I deducted a star. I had to use the super long wire for a 4 inch run. I had no issues getting the app to work. The red record light is a bit intense in your face when driving at night, but I just put some black sharpie over top of it to dim it. I didn't find the adhiesve to be very good so I replaced it with 2 way Gorilla tape, now it's rock solid.

Great little (literally) camera. Installs very easily and you can pretty much hide it entirely. The “okay Garmin” feature is brilliant because instead of fumbling for a save button, which is great in case of needing to do a quick save. Brilliant in my city when the maniacal taxi drivers run red lights while on their phones.
