Learning Resources Sight Word Swat! The Original Sight Words Swatting Game

This game is great. The game pieces are super sturdy and thick. This game is definitely made to hold up to all the swatting of the words that goes on😂 Directions are super simple and give a few options for how to play and how many words to use at any given time. We made an extra game of who can play with the most words so my kids would be engaged longer and want to learn more words. The words are double sided and color coded so it’s easier to pick out simple words for younger kids and harder words for older kids. Great resource for kids with a learning disability as I have one with autism and another with dyslexia and this game has made learning from home fun and engaging for them. I highly recommend this game to anyone who is homeschooling, wants to encourage extra learning from home or even families who just like game nights. Super fun, silly and educational

My daughter was struggling with site words and just after a couple of weeks she started to learn so many!!! This game is great! My 5 and 7 year old daughters now play it all the time! Thank you for making learning fun!!

My students love this game. Easy to hand over to a volunteer to do with a small group of students. Perfect for my first graders

Great concept and my students are engaged in the game. Its can get a bit much with the shatters with a small group but overall good game.

My 5 year old absolutely loved the game. It has different age levels and encourages the child to read different words.

Pros: • Interactive Learning: The game turns sight word recognition into a fun, fast-paced activity. My kids love the challenge of “swatting” the correct word, which keeps them engaged and eager to play. • Color-Coded Difficulty Levels: The cards are color-coded to represent different grade levels, making it easy to tailor the game to each child’s reading ability. This feature is particularly helpful in a multi-age household or classroom setting. • Durable Components: The swatters and cards are sturdy and have withstood repeated use. The quality of the materials ensures longevity, even with enthusiastic players. Cons: • Limited Swatters: The game includes four swatters, which can be limiting if more children want to play simultaneously. Additional swatters would be a beneficial inclusion for larger groups. • Card Separation: Some users have reported that the word cards can split or peel over time, especially with heavy use. While this hasn’t been a significant issue for us, it’s something to be mindful of. Overall: This Game is an excellent resource for reinforcing sight word recognition in a fun and engaging way. It’s suitable for both home and classroom environments and caters to a range of reading levels. Despite minor drawbacks, the educational value and enjoyment it provides make it a worthwhile investment.

As a grandparent during this pandemic, I have been ordering/purchasing as much educational stuff for my grandkids as possible and this by far has been the best!!! Since this is in the form of a fun game - my 5 year old granddaughter absolutely loves it and doesn't even realize she is learning! Papaw & I play with her and when it's our turn we "act" like we can't find it and if she can she is to get it, which she does! She has already memorized so many words & I'm very very happy with game! She already knew her letters and when we first got game, I would call our words and spell them until she felt comfortable with them, and I also made a sentence with the word to be sure she understood meaning. She is now making her own sentences with each word! Worth getting!

The kids love playing this and learn so fast using this game.

My son loves this game! He always asks to play it. It’s easy and I can call out words while I’m multitasking; making dinner, enjoying my coffee, etc.

My class lived playing this game to look at the sounds

Good fun for the kids
