Handy and Powerful. Easy One Handed Use. Great Saw.
Handy. That's what this little fella is. Handy because it fits neatly in one hand, and handy, because I will never ever have to cut metal by hand. Years ago I had a battery powered reciprocating saw from Ryobi and it was a handy little tool. Trimming trees or shrubs around the house, PVC pipe or the odd job where an outlet is far away and something a couple inches thick needs cutting the Ryobi was called into action. I think cutting 40 feet of ivy off a wall was my favorite use. The Tiger saw is the tool for actual demo work. It's a beast and used for beastly jobs. For light duty the Ryobi was just fine. Then, as with all batteries, they died. And with them, the Ryobi saw. For years I went without as I either drug out the extension cord or cut by hand. I even used an angle grinder on some rebar which was crude at best. Enter the Bosch PS60. I discovered it shopping for a new impact driver. The bare tool takes the same batteries so I picked it up. It is so handy! Easily held in one hand and nicely balanced it is a blast to cut with. The light looked pointless as its mounted behind the guide plate but its perfect and shines right through gap and perfectly lights up the blade and the work. In places where demo saws are too much or power is too far away this is the one for me. It comes with short blades for wood and metal but it's a standard twist chuck and bigger blades will fit. The trick with long blades is to not push and let the blade do the work. Nice straight cuts each time, but I digress. Little tool, decent battery life. Throw it in my job bag with the driver and charger and there's not much I can't do. It's a welcome replacement to my old battery saw. Smaller, lighter and more powerful. A very handy little tool. Well made and glad to have it on hand. I'm of the mind that almost every tool from the big makers will get the job done. I have older Port-Cable tools and Makits tools and have used Milwaukee, Bosch, Rigid, Ryobi and Hitachi before this purchase. Each one did what it was supposed to do, usually without complaint. This tool is priced right and feels good in the hand. I love the mid-position shotgun grip and balance of the tool. Perfect for one handed use. Simple to use feels good in the hand. It's all I ask for in a tool, and this does it well. Happy tool hunting.

Amazing Tool
This thing is trick. Small and battery driven. Perfect for under the house, under a car, or under the kitchen sink. Fairly powerful and fairly fast. Copper, PVC, wood trim. Best use is cutting trim flush. With a big recip, it takes off on you and before you know it, you've cut into your work. With this, you can hold it with one hand and lean over the edge to see where exactly the blade is ... plus, it's sufficiently light that you can control it with that one hand. I realize I'm not explaining this very well but trust me, if you do any molding work, you need one of these, badly. This version does not come with batteries but does include the BOXX insert which is really nice. Mine fit in the same box as the companion drill insert which does come with charger and two batteries. So, what I have, in one BOXX, is two inserts that hold this, the drill, two batteries, and a charger. Plus, there is plenty of space for bits and blades. Nice, and this is from someone who has always, before this, well 99% of the time, pitched tool cases before the UPS guy gets back to his truck. Buy this, you won't regret it. Edit 10/14/14 Okay, had this for over a year. It is by far the most useful power tool I've ever owned. Surprising, it is not the smaller size that makes it so. The size is helpful, like, for example, when crawling under a Jeep to cut off the old exhaust. Where it shines is control. With a full size recip, it is all you can do to hold on to the thing. With this, you can hold it in one hand and, given the lower speeds and better control, you can guide it pretty much exactly as you wish. Hard to describe but I swear, I use it all the time, on everything, everywhere. House, garage, wood, metal, plastic, etc. Battery life is still good. If it dies tomorrow morning, I'll order a new one before lunch. I did notice the other day that Milwaukee has one now. Seemed the same size. Not interested now and I generally prefer Bosch over Milwaukee but when it comes time to replace, I'd probably check out both before ordering. Alternatively, if I come across a Black Fridayish holiday deal, I'll likely buy a second just to have a second.

A lot of saw in a small package.
Pocket saw is right. It's small, which is ideal for me. My needs are both general and specific. I wanted a general purpose saw for jobs and projects around the house...and I make knives, and am a woodcarver...and I wanted to experiment with it to reduce some of the labor intensive steps in shaping woods, cutting steel blanks to contour, etc. I also want to try and set up a reciprocating scraper blade to accept abrasive paper and end up with a power sander. No really. I think it will work pretty well as the variable speed trigger on this tool is light and I can easily control the speed down to almost zero. Plus, the action is very smooth and liquid instead of being harsh and jarring. Then the overall grip and lightness of the tool will I think allow it to adapt to the new task well. I know it saws limbs like crazy, copper pipe as well. I need to get a 1 1/2 in. scraper blade to work up the sanding tool. I have the little drill-driver and it works fine but this little saw is amazingly cool.

Take it slow
If you're shopping for a fast-cutting saw to use in demolition or for a commercial job, I'd say keep looking. However, if you're looking for an agile saw for small projects and you are willing to take your time, I think this one will do the job. It's lightweight and small, so it's good for weird angles or tight places. I like it. The only thing I wish it had is a trigger stop, so you could set it at the speed you want without having to constantly hold the pressure at just the right spot; I know it's a safety feature, but it leads to hand fatigue for me. Otherwise, I think it's a great little saw. It's maybe half the size of a real, industrial sawz-all, so you can't really expect it to accomplish the same fast work as a full-sized recip. Go slow and let the saw do the work!

Easily My Favorite Tool
I'm not much of a reviewer (good or bad) but this little guy deserves my 5 min of typing. I only bought this because I needed to tear down a bunch of old pallets and I already have the Bosch 12V batteries for other tools but I gotta tell you, I go looking for things to destroy with this puppy. It's light and compact but easily tears through just about anything. This is the perfect tool for what it is: solid, reliable, ergonomic and actually kind of quiet. If you need to quickly rip some stuff up, this thing is perfect. Be warned though, everything around you will start to look enticing...

A must-have tool for many
Almost bought the well regarded Milwaulkee Hackzall, an 18v tool, but then I thought it through. I have Milwaulkee's famed Sawzall for the heavy work and already have some Bosch 10.8 chargers and batteries that will work for this tool and so I could get a bare tool and save money. This worked out perfectly. Although it just arrived I used it on several projects already. Cut up some 1/2 to 2" branches, notched a 2x4 and cut a test piece of 3/4 copper in preparation for a pipe demolition task coming up. Works great. This has enough power for everyday jobs and is light and handy to just grab and go. So much work involves holding something with one hand while sawing, or operating a power saw, in the other. Yes, I have done this with electric and gas chain saws...dangerous at best. This is much better. One thing to know about: Aggressive specialty pruning blades tend to catch and then there is all that annoying reciprocating saw fight-back where the saw moves instead of the blade. They are best used for actual pruning, where the branch is attached to the tree, rather than for a hand-held fallen branch. For those use a regular wood cutting blade. In either case use the variable speed feature, the slowest speed, and apply very light pressure. It cuts faster and with less drama. The older 10.8 and new 12v batteries and chargers all seem to work interchangeably. Nice that Bosch made this happen. Some other manufacturers have made incompatible systems that required all new batteries and chargers. Note that none of my 10.8 or 18v Bosch batteries or chargers have caused me any grief over the years. The light makes a rectangle right where the blade meets the material so you can see the line. Comes with two little blades, but any reciprocating saw blade works. Astonished that this is standardized, good for us consumers. You would expect greedy proprietary designs, like for multi-tool blades. Hecho en China... Came with a plastic tray that in turn will fit into one of those impressive looking Bosch tool suitcases. My only caveat so far is that the motor had a bit of smell, even though it never got very hot. That will be attributed to new-tool break-in for now.

More expected
I have had nothing but great experiences with Bosch power handtools, so therefore went for this tool to complete my full range of recip saws. It's okay, gets through things eventually, but frankly underperforms my expectations. My advice would be to stick with a real saw, such as the excellent Bosch 18V recip (which I also own. This tool is a specialized toy.

Amazing Variable-Speed Saw
I bought this for my husband for Christmas. He has been using it in our "from the studs out" bath remodel and loves it. It is small but powerful and can get into tight areas easily. It is variable speed (like a sewing machine) and can rapidly cut through wood, metal, or backerboard (depends on the blade chosen) with ease. it does not bog down what-so-ever. A GREAT tool, worth every penny. I received special pricing, since I bought it with the Bosch Max LED cordless work light.

Great little saw !
Clearly a replica of the Milwaukee M12 Hackzall, typical Bosch quality and value. I bought almost the full line of Bosch 12v power tools, including the PS21 driver, PS130 hammer drill and PS41 impact driver, and I managed to fit them all into a single Bosch L-BOXX 1 case with the 30 minutes charger and room for drill bits, blades and more. This little saw isn't gonna replace a full size reciprocating saw, but will surely allow you do to more things that a full size saw wouldn't be safe to use, too big or too heavy. For example, cutting canalisations (electrical and plumbing), raceways, threaded rods, drywall openings, old cables, or to reach into walls or beneath floor/ceiling to cut old pipes, etc. I did cut old 1" steel plumbing pipes in places where you wouldn't even have been able to fit a jab saw or compact hacksaw, making openings in old plaster and lathes walls without a mess, etc. Using a 2.0a battery, this saw will be cutting for a while in metal and wood, but have spares on hand if you plan on using it for the day. 6" blades are a great match, 4" ones are very short, unless you want to cut sheet metal or plywood. The saw has an overload and overheat protection, battery gauge and trigger lock. The quick lock chuck will need some dry lubrication after a while like any other saw (use graphite only) and is sturdy and Bosch 12v tools all sport that comfy, tough and quality housing construction, which is way superior than Milwaukee. Overall, you're looking at a great tool that will be useful to anyone who usually use a hacksaw or jab saw when a full size recip saw isn't appropriate, for homeowners, DIYers, handyman, pros, contractors, landscaping, etc. It's easy to handle and gentle, even your grandma can handle it to prune trees. Get some Lenox blades and you're all set.

Excellent!
Great saw for the price. Quality is top notch. Saw is very smooth with little vibration. Weight with 2.0ah battery is nice and light which makes it easy to handle. The blade change mechanism works well. Used it to cut both metal and wood and had no issues with either.
