I got tired of wasting my money on Microsoft controllers that fail anyway, so I tried to go this route after the last controller failure. I sit right next to my console anyway and I hate recharging. I don't remember if it applies to this product but I also prefer a direct connection over wireless, too. Anyway 4 stars because the trigger buttons do stick a little sometimes, otherwise the sticks so far have been on point, and the thing has been reliable. Will try to remember to come back and edit if anything changes.

Its good when it works. Two months in (AGAIN) I have to buy another. The connection from the controller to the cord, that is plugged into the xbox, does not connect anymore. It keeps popping up on my screen telling me to connect a controller, when I'm in the middle of a game. Quite frustrating because I do love the feel of this controller and the firmness of the joysticks... but I cant even use it for 2 months without it breaking. This is my second purchase. The first purchase the sane thing happened AND the headphone jack also wouldn't connect to the wired headphones I had. So both connections for thr controller were done for just after a few months.... The price should be significantly less for how quickly these take a crap. Mind you, I am VERY careful with all things I own, so it is not a user error or problem.

"Horrible, DO NOT BUY!", is what I originally wrote till my brother showed me that I had the usb plugged into the hub and not directly connected to the computer, my mistake. Unless I'm doing something absolutely wrong, (in which case I totally am) and do not know how this Xbox Series X|S - Blue, gamepad, video game/gaming controller is supposed to function, (and now I do), I can not get it to turn on or sync which is hard to do without the very button to do just that with. And yes the sync button on the controller would be a fantastic addition to this controller, just saying. I did get this to work and it is a fantastic Xbox product that I have bought. Me be dumb. After being sent to Stick Drift Hell with multiple controllers, after experiencing connection issues with multiple 3rd party controllers I have found an amazing controller that does EXACTLY what it's supposed to do. That is: allow me to play my Xbox Series X without any of the above problems haunting me. I was hesitant at first to get a wired controller. But as I thought about it I realized I didn't have a rational reason NOT to get one. I live alone so no one will be tripping over the wire as I play. The cord is plenty long enough. It doesn't hurt reaction time and depending on what you read may actually HELP it. I don't run around the room while playing or throw my controller. Yes, Bluetooth wireless connections are great. Yes, it looks cool. But at the end of the day the ONLY difference is there's a wire. Who cares? Goodness knows I have plenty of other wires in my life. What's one more? Regarding the hardware itself: it's sturdy and feels good in my hands while playing. It has just the right weight to not make it feel like a brick while at the same time feeling substantive. All the buttons are right where you expect them and can be mapped differently if you so choose. I just finished a 2hr COD: BO6 session and it performed wonderfully. No lag. No awkward handling. Nothing. Bottom Line: great product that performs as advertised. I wouldn't hesitate to purchase again.

This product is great if you do not have rechargeable batteries, need an extra controller for 2 player games, or don't want to break the bank for a Microsoft branded wireless controller. I bought rechargeable batteries for my controller that came with the Xbox, but I needed an additional controller for 2 player games like FIFA. This works great and it's always reliable because it requires no batteries. Additionally, I've had problems with Microsoft branded controllers, even the Elite model controller, when it comes to stick drift and the RB and LB buttons. Microsoft doesn't replace those controllers even though they know they are faulty so you end up buying multiple $60+ regular controllers or $180+ Elite controllers as replacements which financially sucks. This is a reliable replacement and I haven't had the same issues with stick drift and button breakage with these models. Only issue I have is, is that after time the USB cord that connects the controller to the Xbox becomes frayed and then fails. The cord specifically has a unique fitting and not all USB cables can fit into the housing around the actual USB port on the controller. This means you have to purchase another $25 controller just because you require a new cord. The old controller will still work, but essentially be unusable due to the fact that there is no cord able to be used for connection.
