Top Pick
I come back to these every time. I always branch out and try new strings every now and then. However I always end up coming back to one of the elixir products they are just so much better to play than other strings. Less hand fatigue and less thinking , I play better.

Favorite strings
Hold longer than e.g. Ernie Ball strings

Really good for drop tunings
I played them mostly drop D - drop C and I liked it. They sounded good even after 6 month of usage.

A value for the incredible longevity
These strings have a slightly different feel than a traditional uncoated string, so they take a little getting used to, but the longevity is amazing. After a few weeks of playing, I have gotten accustomed to the feel and am pleased that the required string changes are so infrequent. The tone is slightly different than a traditional string, but this is a small tradeoff for the incredibly long life. I would describe the tone as less metallic and less resonant. With traditional strings, I can get 5 star tone for about 1 week but I can get 4.5 star tone for months out of these. These are the only strings that I buy and the only reason that I would buy traditional strings wlould be for applications when absolute best sound quality is required (big time recording session or something of that nature). Even though the price per pack is higher, these strings are a value and are great for home use, bar gigging and almost every other situation.

Really good strings
These strings are really good. The D string is a little thicker than the average 10-52 set. They are a little quieter when playing unplugged. They also have this slight sticky feeling to them. But that could just be me. I’ve seen a few reviews stating string breakage. I’m playing on an evertune guitar and have had zero issues. The strings on an evertune are slightly tighter so that’s a good sign they didn’t snap.

Best strings for corrosive sweat or the bedroom player
I use elixirs on ALL my guitars. The strings just last. They may not be as bright as a fresh set, but more like a briefly worn-in set. If you are recording, MAYBE you would want something else, but I think the tone is fine. The main thing is, these last for 300-400 hours for me. Other strings, I have to replace after one or two sessions of 4-6hrs. I also have instruments with Elixirs that I haven't touched in months, and when I pick them up - no rust, no wear, in-tune. Other strings would've been rusted and unplayable. I also really like the smooth feeling on the nanowebs, making it easier for my fingers to glide and not catch my calloused fingers as much. These strings also do not break for me (or very, very rarely). Where cheap strings I'd break a string a week, these don't break even after heavy playing or whammy abuse. Just as easy to use for bends and playing as non-coated strings. If you go through strings quickly, or let you instruments set for awhile between playing, then you want to try Elixirs for sure!

Love them so far - slick and smooth
I have been playing guitar since around 1984. I've used Ernie Ball strings since around 1990. Now and then I try a different brand just to see if I like them. Last year I bought an acoustic guitar that came with Elixeelr coated strings and I really liked them so I figured I'd give these a try on electric. I just swapped them tonight and do far I really like them. They do not sound exactly like my usual Ernie Balls but the difference is not massive, maybe a little less zing. But they FEEL great and that matters a lot to me! Now I am just curious to see how long that feel lasts. If this slick feeling lasts a long time (months) I will be a happy customer. I will report back one way or another. BTW, I play hard rock, punk, and some rockabilly on Gibson-stype guitars. *UPDATE* These things stay in tune like crazy! Just played a short show last week and never went out of tune. Same with rehearsals. Love these strings.

THESE STRINGS WERE MADE BY THE HANDS OF GODS
I've been playing guitar for the last eight years of my life and, until a few months ago, I didn't realize I've been playing guitar wrong this entire time. See, my problem was that I wasn't using these Elixir strings. I've gone through a long journey finding the right pack of strings, and I have found the grandest pair of guitar strings that mankind has ever known. These strings changed my life. The first chord I struck on the guitar after putting these on probably set off one of the greatest sounds my ears have ever experienced. And the best part? They kept their tone for the next two months. I play guitar very often, because I'm a boring person and have nothing else to do with myself, and I generally go through good strings in about a month. These strings lasted twice as long and kept their tone the entire duration. It was incredible. I'm thoroughly convinced that these strings are made by the hands of gods, no mere mortal can produce such perfect guitar strings. You don't want the sound of any guitar player. You want the strings with the strength of Zeus and the tone of the utmost majesty. You simply must purchase these strings.

Stay brighter for longer, easy to play, slippery and fast
I have mildly fallen in love with these strings after years of switching between brands and never quite feeling right for my playing style. I play a lot of fast and aggressive Metal & Hardcore, and these things just punch straight through and give loads of options with high mids and highs, without being too shrill. The nanoweb coating gives an extremely fast, and to begin with slippery, feel (this took some getting used to but MAN they are good after breaking in). I would say for me the G string on the 10/52 set feels like a slightly too thick gauge, but that could just be personal preference. In terms of longevity- I play averagely about 2-4 hours a day, and this first set lasted me about 8 weeks (approx 170 hours) before the webbing started to fray at the picking end (this may also be attributed to my heavy picking hand). Throughout all of this, I noticed little gunk or corrosion on the strings, and the brightness only really started to roll off after about 5-6 weeks. The only thing to bare in mind, as a few other people have mentioned in reviews, is that my E string snapped at the bridge (tune-o-matic). I don't switch between tunings TOO often, but I feel this string suffered more from switching between E and drop D. Overall, for a little more money, I am going to continue running these strings unless I find something even better.
