Chattanooga Primera TENS/NMES Unit with HAN Waveform

great little east y to use home it is easy to use once program setting are set it comes in a great storage pouch that has room to store the unit, cords and extra electrodes which is convenient . the product is made sand backed by a veruy reputable medical supply company they back their ptrodiucts and are always there to help with problems. it would be a good ides for a non medical person to see a nO.T./P.T. initially to make sure the most approptrisate. program is set to meet your needs. it is very simple once sent up and can be used as a neurmuscula elec stim to re-educate muscles or a transcutaneous electrical stim for pain relief. i use it as a NMes unit to re educate and begin strengthening of flaccid muscles resulting from brain injury. but, i gave one to a froiend to use as a tens unit for pain relief. she also finds it to be a quality easy toi use product people experience different and unique levels of pain relief. sadly there aren’t many if sany products available thaat are safe and effective tio get rid of pain. but, this a good product to give a try battery life is good. and uses an easy tio find battery that is easy to replace.

I suffered a stroke a little over 2 months ago. While in the hospital, the Occupational Therapist used a machine similar to this one on my arm and hand to try to wake the muscles back up. It seemed to work, so when I was released I wanted to continue the same kind of electrical treatment. I asked my outpatient OT what they thought and they felt it was a good idea. I asked them which machine they would recommend and she said she needed to ask around and let me know. She is part of an email group with other OTs around the country, so she sent out an email blast to all of them to see which unit they recommended, and the majority of them all said the Chattanooga Primera TENS/NMES Unit, so that is the one she told me to get (I guess you could say that this product is the recommended choice of Occupational Therapists! ). Anyway, with all of that said, I couldn't be more pleased with this product! It is VERY easy to use and it has helped me regain movement in my arm and hand greatly! The unit comes with a very nice travel bag, as well as a very helpful booklet with diagrams which shows you the proper points to place the electrodes. It even comes with electrodes already in the kit, so there is no need to purchase extra ones until you need them! Everything you need is in the box. I was using it within 15 minutes of opening the box! The other great thing about this unit is that it is TENS and NMES! This is VERY handy (be sure to look up what the difference is)! I have primarily used it for NMES purposes, but recently needed to use the TENS feature and it helped a lot! This is an EXCELLENT product that has made a significant difference in my rehab!

A relatively inexpensive, reliable unit. Many modes and settings. Not for use with DMSO solutions; dry patches only.

After breaking my tibia, I needed to improve my quad muscle tone from the atrophy of 6 months non-use. This works pretty well along with physical therapy although electrode pad placement is critical for muscle activation. The included placement diagram didn’t work well for me but I found decent response by trial and error. You’ll need to buy more pads but they’re pretty cheap and you’ll know when you need to when the unit cuts off while ramping up the charge. I haven’t used it for pain relief. It still works fine after 6 months use.

Great product! I am using the NMES program because of lost signal in the nerves in my toes. My PT recommended this device.

This TENS unit was a lifesaver while I was going through physical therapy for my two total knee replacements. It was easy to use and worked great to stimulate my quads and help re-build my muscle strength. I would definitely recommend this TENS unit to anyone going through total knee replacement surgery to use at home and supplement your PT.

Only worked on intensity less than 40. Worked fine for first 2 weeks as I worked up on the intensity. As soon as I started sessions above 38, unit cut off under 2 minutes, sometimes under 30. I know the patches and lead wires were fine. Could do a 30 minute session at 38. Leave pelectrode patches in place, take 45 minute rest. Start 2nd session, graduate up to 40- 45 and init would work for a while and then cut off somewhere before 30 minutes. Bought this units for a 5 month treatment plan, 3x day, for post-stroke spasticity. The protocol that I am following, I need to work up to an intensity of 50, 3x a day with 60 minute rest between. Very unhappy that this unit is not performing as a true medical NMES for dedicated treatment. 42 sessions before failing is not good.

The unit does not provide any button or display for the settings of parameters, e.g. rate (Hz), pulse width (us), etc. It cannot be set to the requirements specified by the therapist. User can select up to 14 programs of operation. However, the difference in consequence and result for each program is not elaborate. User is not sure what and how to choose the appropriate one. The price is high probably because of the 14 programs built in but the users should be convinced of its values like its benefits and convenience. How best are these programs as users are not allowed to make any changes?

Estoy contenta con el equipo hasta ahora, con 2 semanas de uso regular. Un gran acierto la bolsa transportadora para guardar el equipo y consumibles.
