Senior Age Rat Terrier Chihuahua with highly sensitive gums and very yellow teeth. My husband and I have searched high and low for the perfect toothbrush to use on our little puppo. Her gums bleed very easily, she hates getting her teeth brushed and we needed a toothbrush that 1. Was small enough for her mouth. 2. Was a good size for her smaller teeth for detailing the really hard to focus on yellow areas 3. Was soft and wouldn't irritate her gums. This MICRO HEAD size brush, with 4 bunches of bristles fit the bill perfectly! Not only does this get into those hard to clean areas well, she doesn't mind it as badly as when we used the other competing toothbrushes. Soft enough to where there was pretty much no bleeding and yet firm enough to clean. The thoughtfully designed handle itself provided perfect maneuverability which is very helpful! We are looking forward to a cleaner bill of health for our sweet older puppo! Review for: CYLINDER HEAD BRUSH Use: 13lb. 1.5 years puppy, Parson terrier Golden mix We were looking for a 360° toothbrush 1. That was fitting for our puppo's mouth and teeth since he is probably more a small-medIum sized pup. 2. Could still clean effectively all the teeth and gum areas with a semi firm density 3. Was soft and wouldn't irritate the gums. This CYLINDER HEAD brush cleaned his teeth and massage his gums perfectly! There was no bleeding but it was firm enough to clean. He didn't hate it which was great! Looking forward to keeping his choppers healthy!

Finally, someone thought about what little dogs need! Thank you, Mind Up! Tiny dogs like Chihuahuas, and some Yorkies and toy poodles are very susceptible to dental disease leading to tooth loss, bone loss, jaw fractures, and even amputations of parts of the lower jaw, so why is it so hard to find a toothbrush that fits into the tiny mouths of these little dogs? I've tried finger brushes, 360 baby toothbrushes, cat toothbrushes, little paint brushes and makeup brushes, and even the Wisp disposable breath-freshener toothbrush for humans (after removing the mint bead, of course), but they're all too large (like trying to brush your own teeth with a hair brush), or the bristles are too stiff (Wisp & 2 different cat toothbrushes), or they just aren't designed right (paint and makeup brushes). I brushed my 3.5-pound Chihuahua's teeth religiously for most of her 12 years of life (so far), but she still had to have 6 teeth pulled a few years ago, and now needs oral surgery and another 15 teeth taken out to stop the bone loss that is occurring in her lower jaw. All because her mouth is too tiny for a proper toothbrush - until now! Thank you, thank you, thank you, Mind Up for this wonderful little Kenko Care Micro Head toothbrush! It actually fits around ALL hear teeth so I can brush the inside and outside, and the backs and gum line, and she doesn't gag on it! It's absolutely wonderful. I just wish I had it a few years earlier. Hopefully this awesome little brush will make it much easier for tiny dog owners to take proper care of their little dogs' teeth and prevent them from having to endure what my little angel has had to. Now, go brush your dog's teeth!

I have bought these to use on my 20# cat...they still have tiny mouths..so this tiny tooth brush is perfect! Pricey but exactly what I need. Thanx)

My dog is a maltese mix and I had a hard time with some doggy toothbrushes out in the market. Most of them are just not cutting the job and are too big. Pros: - tiny enough to reach the back teeth. - handle is just the right lenght and easy to manuver around. Cons: - I wish there are two set of bristles more so it can cover more teeth area, when I said tiny it is very small, kind of like the same size as a pencil eraser. But I think this is better than the previous toothbrush I used.

Update: The below review is for the micro-head toothbrush. I've now also ordered the cylindrical head toothbrush and actually like that one better. The bristles are soft and there is more coverage so I feel I'm better able to clean his teeth overall. I’ve used dental wipes daily on my chihuahua for most of his life, but he still needed a dental recently (although we made it 6 years without one!) He has a condition that makes anesthesia a little bit higher risk for him, so I want to avoid dentals if at all possible. That’s why I ordered the micro toothbrush. I was disappointed at first because the bristles seem quite hard, but after running the toothbrush under hot water they soften up enough. I still use the dental wipe and then the toothbrush with enzymatic toothpaste once a day. The size is great for him and it works well getting in between his teeth and cleaning the gum line (versus the dental wipes). It’s still a little hard to get his back teeth, but he tolerates it well.

The toothbrush bristle part is a little too small. I have 12-13 lb. dogs and it is actually too small for them. You can only try to do 1 tooth at a time. We are using them but we then go to a larger round bristle toothbrush to get a more complete brushing. If the bristle part was a little larger it would have worked better.

I really like these toothbrushes. My chihuahuas do not like their teeth brushed and the size of this brush make it easier for me to use because the handle is plenty long and the head is small enough for their mouths. Would recommend

These are the same as the ones for cats. Appropriately sized. I can reach their back teeth in their tiny mouths.

nice and small for a cat

We have a small dog (5kg), so you can imagine the size of his mouth. We needed a very small toothbrush that could get at the back molars. The toothbrush we got from the pet store up the street was fine, but it just couldn't get to back of his mouth. This brush worked very well to get to the back of his mouth and at the molars. The only downside (if there is one) is that it's not an inexpensive brush. But if you are trying to stave off doggy dental problems, then the price isn't really a detractor.
