I bought this Rack for hauling a Canoe on our 1970's VW Bus. 'Had to do a few slight modifications to have it just the way I wanted, but was good and solid, and simple to put on, and remove when not needed. I wouldn't hesitate to put some much heavier things on it, like piles of lumber or camping gear. Another highly-successful (and economical) Amazon buy!

Easy installation it took two people to install though. Quality products very strong well painted won't chip we'll adjust to different widths for Van width only problem is is trying to figure out how to strap ladders to roof rack appearance looks good very factory looking

First and foremost, this is not a premium roof rack and as such, I will review it for what it is. If you are looking at this rack you are probably in a similar positions as I was, you've got a van but need to haul something longer or too awkward to put in the van. I purchased this to haul several 16 foot long boards. The rack will easily handle what I need it for. The quality is not great and the powder coat is very thin. The tubes are no where near similar in size so there's huge gaps where they clamp together. The rail clamps seem pretty decent and there is plenty of adjustments for using on lots of different vehicles. I installed on a 1986 Toyota Van Wagon, they are ugly as sin but will function! Installation was easy for one person to do. The rail clamps locked in tight and feel very stable. Good deal for the price but don't expect premium quality for this price.

We ordered two sets. Worked well, good quality --once we made adjustments. The clamps had to be adjusted to the correct angle to properly clamp onto our gutter. Also, one of the welds on the inside of one of the pipes was blocking it from sitting properly and had to be file off the protruding weld. Once these adjustments were made-- they worked Great! Worth the money, if on a limited budget!

Very simple design. Most of the bolts are ready in place. The metal is much thicker than expected. Probably the thickest tubing I have got from any amazon rack. My cam sucks, but the pictures show how thick the metal is. As for the paint, its questionable so there is that. I probably should respray it, but since its white I am gonna leave it. I dont have of any hard white paint. I use engine enamel on most of my things. Engine paint dries very hard and if you make a mistake you can hit it softly while paint is still soft with a torch and the overspray disapears.

Picked up for our Toyota Hiace, far exceeded expectations. Easy and straight forward, instructions included but not needed. Some perocity in the welds but nothing that seems to hinder integrity, will hold our jerry cans and other items just fine!

This rack may work well but I've had several ladder racks in the past - including one that cost about the same - and one thing is clear - this is a MUCH less robust rack. The bars are fine - they are held together by a strong bolt - but the attaching plate is held onto the van by one small bolt. The other ladder racks I've had have had at least two strong bolts that attach the plate that goes over the lip of the gutter - to the upright plate that attaches to the bars. This rack doesn't have ANY bolts that attach the two plates together at the bottom. Instead, it has one small bolt that holds them together from the top. With the bar on - it felt nice and strong. Without the bar on I could easily move the side plates back and forth on the gutter. Hopefully it will work out. I had to have the rack delivered quickly and so needed one that used Amaxon Prime. Update - a year and a half later I must say this rack has served me well - I still wince a bit looking at it but it has remained tight under a light load (solar panels)

The overall construction is simple but it seems well made. It was easy to assemble and mount myself. No issues fitting on a '98 GMC Savanna

I've had this for months now. So far so good. Only thing I'd like to critique is that the adjustable tension on one of the rails was a little "off" so I had to add a shim to get the tension properly. It could be due to the lip of my roof on a 2000 Dodge Ram 3500 Cargo van. I spray painted it black to match my other 2, now I got 4 along my roof. Makes it super strong as I will add a light platform for large solar panels. I hope the tension parts get modified by the company a bit just to make it foolproof right out the box. The clamp should cover more area with a larger grip surface. Easy to modify yourself if one is a DIY person.

The rack is great however i would hit it with a enamel paint out of the box . It is showing some rust on the hardware and a few spots . All in all im very happy with it so far ..

Roof racks and braces today are so vehicle specific, this one fist both my vehicles and changeover is quick and easy. Very well built

Work perfect on our van, strong, heavy duty, color matches, easy to install, very happy with purchase.
