ok, you need to keep your expectations realistic. This will launch a ball perhaps 20 feet (6 metres). Of course, depending on the surface (and how fast your dog is) it will bounce and roll a good bit further. Almost anyone can throw (much) further than this by hand, and a stick-type ball thrower will easily throw it many times as far. If your dog likes to sprint long distances to fetch a ball, this probably isn't for you. So why do I like it so much? We bought this because I had a stiff shoulder, and any throwing was painful. Although our Lab was disappointed with the short distance at first, it had the desired effect of allowing my shoulder to rest and recover. But we discovered other advantages too. Our children, 6 and 4, think this is a fantastic toy, and it allows them to throw for our dog, which they can't really manage by hand. It's also officially the coolest dog gadget in our local area! It takes any standard tennis ball, and also works effectively with a ChuckIt ball - which is handy as our Lab destroys tennis balls.

Was expecting this to launch a ball at least 50ft. NO. Was more like 20ft. After 10 launches dog destroyed the ball. I expected that. HOWEVER the launcher has definate wear on the black handle on the inside of the gun you can see the wear. Not worth the money. CAN throw the ball further by hand

Got it for dog ball throwing , did find it a bit weak so made it a bit more powerful.Dog loves it now

Bought this previously but after years of use it broke. Couldn't be without one for my dogs

Very disappointed, not worth a fraction of the cost. Really no point in purchasing as you can throw further without much effort

Perfect launcher if you have problems throwing or little ones that struggle to throw the ball far enough. Making fetch even more the fun for the whole family.
