I'm updating my review: I LOVE THIS STUFF AND NOTHING ELSE WORKS LIKE IT. It's easy. As mentioned below they state STEM may need reapplication, but not that often. And, a little goes a long long way. Plus, because the price is right, you can continue to purchase it as you need it. Critters really hate it and go away. It is so worth it. If you spray them they die immediately but I don't care if they die. I just want them to stay away and they do! The smell is overwhelming and I don't care! The scent alone DETERS anything from insects to rodents. It keeps me from having to set traps. It keeps me from using neurotoxin sprays. I love it and wish it didn't smell so strong but THAT'S WHY IT WORKS!!! It's only essential oils and it is all natural. After the third yellow sac spider (and he seemed well-fed) landed in my bed, I had - had enough. I give a quick SPURT anywhere I might see a cobweb or in corners and on the ceiling fan ...because they seem to like it up there, dopes. Regardless, the smell alone is a deterrent! Wouldn't it be nice if you didn't see them at all! Wouldn't it be nice if they just stayed away? I don't mind reapplication because it doesn't take much. A SPRITZ DOES THE TRICK. Thankfully the price is right or I would look into other options but the lemongrass in this product is despised by spiders and rodents. A small spritz and your whole room will be a deterrent. I would now like to get some sleep and think I will. I don't like seeing creatures and I don't want them around. This keeps them away in the first place! Isn't that what you want? Don't hesitate. Don't bother with ant traps. Use this and repeat the usage until it stops. You can use traps outside the house, if you have more trouble. It does leave a horribly oily residue so don't spray it anywhere you can't wipe down later. That's the only drawback and it's not a big one. Despite the fact that this may need reapplication, it's surprising how well it works. I had to leave one of the homes unoccupied for quite a while (years). I bought this for ants, but was surprised to find that some mice had also taken up residence in the basement. I would spray and although the scent would dissipate, it actually took some time... Longer than they say on the bottle. I also found wetting cardboard, cotton balls or anything absorbent could be placed in various locations and that makes for easy cleanup. I'd simply spray again, and eventually, it seemed they did not want to come back. As far as the ants go, they are dead on contact. All I needed to do was find the general location where they were coming from and it was over. One small word of caution, if you are sensitive to smells, you won't get away scott-free. It may be natural but a little goes a long way. Overspraying, was overwhelming. It gave me headaches. IT WAS STILL WORTH IT! Don't overspray.

We live in an apartment where unfortunately ever time there is clogged pipes fixed we get nats and roaches. This spray has been a game changer. Spraying it in the entryway decreased the number of flying bugs we see and if you spray it on a roach they will shrivel up within a minute. It does have a strong lemony scent however I will gladly take it instead of any bugs.

This stuff does what it says it will do, but it has some draw backs. First it's oily/sticky and leaves a residue behind. Not a big deal if you don't need to spray cabinet shelving and countertops, but most people who have an ant problem need to do exactly that. Next is the odor. It's not wholely unpleasant, but it is entirely strong. First day of use we actually had to open up the windows because it was still incredibly strong after a few hours. Did it kill the ants? Yes. Did they stay gone? Of course not. It isn't designed for long term prevention, so if you need that, I'd suggest finding that elsewhere. This product is for short term maintenance. It kills *almost* on contact. The result is not "instant." At least, not on these Florida ants, but then, everything in this state seems to be a mutant with super powers lol Overall, for the price, if you just need to quickly kill off some intruding pests, this is a solid purchase. Just don't buy it expecting it to be a long term or permanent fix to your bug problem.

This is the best purchase I’ve ever made under $6. My house out of nowhere has gotten bad flies, and this kills INSTANTLY! I even had one flying and sprayed it mid air and it DROPPED. Smell isn’t bad either! It’s not the best but tolerable for a bug spray- think more essential oils. I am forever grateful to have found this!

Stem works kills almost instantly..my place was crawling with roaches after one week..I can't even find one..smell is nice scent but it's slippery... definitely recommend this product.

I bought this to control drain flies, also known as fruit flies. Stem is advertised to kill flies on contact and to keep the mean little buggers away. My experience has been that it stuns and kills on contact most of the time, but if you spray your trash basket with this, it won't keep the flies out, in fact the cheeky little bastards will land on the Stem bottle with no apparent harm. It is also incredibly oily, and leaves stains on indoor painted surfaces. I think that these small flies are quick enough to "hear" the spray coming at them, and sometimes they are quick enough to escape the area with minimum contact with the spray. I plan to keep this product on hand, because I have found that these flies are not nearly as smart as your common housefly, and will let you get withing 3 to 6 inches of them. Then, if you just make a quick small jerk on the trigger lever, you leave a minimum amount of messy oil and it knocks the little buggers for a loop. I get a kick out of it when I see dead little bodies all over the floor after giving them a quick shot of Stem on the ceiling.

This is the best! It's pet safe and doesn't have a bad smell. It both kills and repels ants. If you spray too heavily on some surfaces they may become sticky but that's more user error than anything.

The first day I used this product I was please with the fact that it worked just as well as competitors that used pesticides in their products. However the smell immediately was very intense and strong. It’s very concentrated. Now maybe I sprayed too much but it still seems like even 1 spray packs a hard punch as far as fumes goes. I sprayed it a couple times outside then brought the bottle inside and placed it on a table. A few minutes later I asked my mom who was over visiting, if she sprayed any as there was a very strong smell inside even though I had only sprayed it outside, and she of course did not. I was smelling the bit on the top of the sprayer from when using it outside, meanwhile it smelt like I just sprayed a good bit inside. I wasn’t too concerned at first and just disregarded it. we have a bad roach problem and they were already in our home when we moved and our water heater busted and flooded our house not long ago and ever since the roaches have been uncomfortable. It has taken a toll on my families mental health. Needless to say we have an exterminator coming next week but haven’t been able to afford it just yet so got this for the meantime. Fast forward to tonight and I’m furious. I’m gonna preface this by saying our house is out of the normal as far as how much we need to spray due to how bad the problem is, however I can’t help but feel the strength of the smell of this product added to the fire big time. So those of you who only have normal and under control for the most part pest control issues this may be okay for you. We found a bunch of roaches in my dining room in the curtains ( they are awful it’s so upsetting) and in the track of the sliding glass door- they are German roaches so they are small- my fiancé sprayed them. Now he used quite a few sprays but since they are small they don’t cover too much area so not enough in my opponent’s for what happens. Immediately he comments on how strong the smell is, keep in mind I have fought this man on using raid- he has wanted to but I bought this product so it’s “safer”. After a few minutes the smell becomes almost unbearable as we both develope bad headaches. Luckily my child was in bed already. We closed her door and put a blanket to cover the crack on the bottom. We had birds in the corner we cleaned and felt we had to move them to another room for safety. We got all the fans in our house and turned them towards the curtains we sprayed and opened the glass doors for air. Asking story short we have all coke to my moms house to spend the night because of this. I literally got my child out of bed who is only 3, and me and my fiancé came to sleep at my moms because him and I were both starting to feel worse and he wa so bad he was outside feeling like he was going to get sick. Now at my moms our symptoms have gone. I am so in shock. Yes I realize my situation may be different but mind you we still tried not to spray too much as we do keep those things in mind to not use too much- for comparison my fiancé has used the same amount of raid in a similar manner in the last few months and within 30 minutes the house was completely aired out and not an issue anymore. We waited almost 2 hours before making the decision to come to my moms. I am still concerned about my fiancé and hoping he recovers in the morning. If you have normal bugs this again may work but be so careful as this products fumes are extremely strong.
