I have a glass top stove - does it work just as well on glass top stove?

This will NOT work on an induction glass top stove!

How long is the handle on the Toast-Tite? It looks shorter in some photos and longer in others.

I like the longer handles much better avd actually it would be nice to be even longer - why - because we use these while camping to make pocket pizzas and grilled sandwiches or sweet campfire pies around a camp fire and you need to get into the coals or a good hot spot for even toasting. I kind of balance the one handle on the ground to load the fixings.

what is this made of, it used to be iron.. I've heard this is lightweight aluminum?

This product was never made of iron. I used to have one. My son now owns that one. The 1949 product appears to be made of some sort of pewter. The design currently pictured appears to be of the same material. You just cant produce a casting with detailed lettering using stainless steel. If this were stainless, they would have to charge about $80 for it.

Rome's pie iron is basically 2 pieces that form one piece. Is this one piece or also 2 ? Is the handle as long as the Rome's pie iron? ( too long)

Don't Waste Your Money..!

Expensive Rip-off & Waste of Money the metal used is cheap lightweight therefore causes the sandwich to burn. The true originals used heavy cast iron so you could throw it onto a campfire ...! Thin &/or lightweight metal just Does Not Work. As with milk Thin Pots Burn the Milk Easily Thick Pots Distribute the heat evenly..! Don't Waste Your Money.. Buy Real Cast Iron you can find them on Amazon..! I will start looking now my self...!
