Q: What is the actual size of the letters? Would they be easy to read for a person with macular degeneration?

All cards are of a typical standard size, with a central large letter 4.5cm tall and 1.5cm tall leterr in 2 corners Diagnally opposite each other. Hope this helps

Q: Can it be played by one person?

Well, it would bw like playing scrabble by yourself. Two or more is better.

Q: How is this different from quiddler?

In WordSpiel, each turn you have to make a word that starts with the last letter(s) of the previously played word. You can use a dictionary during your turn, but you only get 60 seconds to play your word. It comes with a digital timer which makes it really easy to track each player's turn. The first player to use all 10 of their cards wins the game. The gameplay and strategy of how to use your letters are very different than Quiddler. It's really easy to learn/teach and super fun.
