Before returning this item I tried one more thing to fix the flashing on and off issue. The light is connected to two 3-way switches and I thought somehow that might be the problem. I pulled both 3-way switches out of their respective boxes (circuit breaker off) and reworked the stab in connections. Stab in or push in connections as they are called, are notorious for causing problems. Well, that seemed to fix the issue. So now this bulb gets a 5 Star rating. The motion detection works well, even through glass. It will turn On & Off all night long in a quiet basement stairwell for no reason. As a matter of fact, it's flashing On and Off as I type this. On for about 17 seconds then Off for 6 seconds, repeatedly for hours. I've flipped the light switch On and Off in different patterns and days hoping to correct the issue but there's no change.

This is not a motion sensor lightbulb that has to have the little bulby part on the end open away from the lampshade. This light bulb uses radar. You can have it hidden in a beautiful light fixture with a beautiful shade and not worry it will still be effective. It can sense motion in the other room and turn on the light so that you will have light when you open the door. It’s super wonderful for people who need to get up at night and go to the bathroom and see where they’re going or go to the kitchen to get a drink of water in the middle of the night. You don’t have to search for the light switch or wonder if the lights are going to come out and you don’t have to worry about turning them off because a few seconds after you leave the area they turn off by themselves . Another good thing about that is the kids can’t sneak in the door and go up the stairs at night pretending to be in from their dates earlier either as the lights will turn on and you will know that they came in the door. It’s a wonderful product. I have it one lamp in every public room and bathroom with one of these bulbs. You turn it on and forget it. It only turns on and makes light when it is dark in the room and there is motion somewhere around it. Love them.

They turn on with motion and that is great... but it seems like they shut off in about 10 seconds. For me 10ish seconds is too fast. I don't know if these are going to be used much longer - it would be great to have the ability to set how long they stay on so this product isn't for me.

They work as described.

Very bright. Motion detection very sensitive. This light detects motion all around it. I can trigger it walking through my living room because of the window (with drapes closed.) Serves the purpose it was purchased for. Update: After one year both bulbs have stopped working. I used one until it stopped and the installed the second one in its place. First one lasted several months, second only a couple. I like have the motion detection and that function was sensitive and consistent. I am a bit disappointed in the short life span.

My first light bulb lasted 32 months!! Just put the second one in my front porch light.

Bought these light bulbs for use in driveway, over garage. They seemed to detect motion pretty well, but would turn off too soon. Then wouldn't turn back on again for 10-20 seconds, leaving the person walking in the dark. Then they would turn on & off all through the night for no reason. Ww thought possibly bug activity was triggering it. We decided to use them inside the house in our closets. Great idea! Not. They flashed on & off all through the night even when no motion was occurring. Weirdest light bulbs ever. Don't waste your money.

These are great for our garage where the kids would leave the light on for days. Now I just leave the switch on and the light is automatigically on when they enter the garage and turns off after they leave!
