Humidifier- Gel Bead Humidification (4 oz.)

I have a small, refrigerator-style humidor. I had been using the Boveda pack 5x7" model, which is a bit pricey and lasts for a year. So I tried HUMI-CARE, starting with a single container. It got the humidity of the humidor up to 59-60%. I purchased a second, identical HUMI-CARE and now have it right about where I want it. It's still lower cost than my earlier solution, and hopefully it will be longer lasting. (The hygrometer on top has proven a bit more accurate than the one on the bottom.)

Works well

I've been using these for years and they last several years and the price is bargain. Don't listen to these mental midgets on here talking about about drilling holes in the lid or whatever. The unit comes with a few extra beads... no biggie... more is good. Instructions are very simple. Unwrap the product. Remove the lid and fill the container with distilled water to the bottom of the vent insert. Reinstall the lid. Let the humidifier sit for a few hours, over night or until you see the beads have fully absorbed all the water. Remove the lid slowly and carefully since the vent and a couple dozen beads are going to come popping out. Remove and discard or save enough beads from the container so you can fit the vent back into the container where it's designed to fit. Place the humidifier in your humidor and forget about it and get on with life. Enjoy.

I really like this because a I am knew tp the cigar world. This helps ease my mind on keeping my investment safe. I do reccomend this product, it seems to guarantee a certain reading and it stays true. **Update** so this product is really awesome and holds humidity true. However for the humidor i have which is good for "50" its about a 1/8 inch to tall. Which is kind of a pain to close the door with it installed especally once i have 40 cigars in there its just very difficult. I cant dock the product because it doesnt say it fits in mine but just soemthing to think of

When I received item I was concerned because I was expecting jar to be half full of beads. I though for sure the package had been opened already and beads were missing because there wasn't even close enough beads to cover the bottom of the jar. I immediately contacted seller via email and they replied within minutes. They assured me it was correct. So I followed the instructions on the box (filled jar half full of cigar juice) and within a couple hours the beads that were in the jar swelled up and filled it perfectly. I'd give the seller 10 stars if I could. First because of the outstanding support and secondly because the item wasn't available for Prime shipping, yet I received it the same day as other things I ordered at the same time that did have Prime shipping. Only thing I wish was Humi-Care would package the beads separate bag from the jar so you can just pour them in. When you receive the item, the virgin beads are just rolling around in the jar. The holes on the top of the jar are bigger than the beads. So be careful when initially opening the top because it's likely many will be trapped between the top of the jar and the cover.

These beads swell up like crazy! I took half the beads out since I have a small (20-stick) humidor and soaked the remainder in solution (I hear distilled water is fine too, but I went with the solution). It's keeping my humidor consistently at 70-73%. I've overfilled the little puck humidifiers before and the water leaked out staining the humidor wood a bit and damaging some of the cigars. My fault for sure, but with these beads, that can't happen since they are in a jar. Also easy to see when they need to be rehydrated whereas with the puck, it's less obvious. More than happy with how this is working for me.

Well, the little blue balls will expand (do they ever) and end up all over the place because the internal cap does not stay on the container. What I did was drill holes in the solid cap that keeps the balls in the container in the first place and put the cap back on. Seems to work okay. Instructions are almost impossible to read on the container and not very helpful anyway. It might actually be blue print against the blue balls. I'm too lazy to go look. There is an instruction video on Youtube that doesn't tell you much, but is pretty funny. Apparently, I'm pretty easily amused and may have too much time on my hands. Anyway, I'm sure this product will be effective and do what it is suppose to do, but I will probably buy Xitar next time.
