The pens don't start right all the time, but I fixed that when the ink finally ran out, by jamming some sections of rubber cord from a hand sanitizer bottle to shore up a paper mate ink insides that is in there now, and the pen which the sticky stuff is transferable multiple times, works, and will be refillable forever, and is very popular with this supervisor for the same use.

I’m a middle school teacher and got these for a spot in my classroom where kids can write down the missing assignments they’ve completed. I’ve gone through 3 of the 4, and can’t decide whether to just go ahead and sacrifice the 4th one, or try to find another use for it. The base of the pen, where the smiley face is, can pop off the adhesive part very easily. My middle schoolers have also discovered how easy it is to pull the pen away from the base and break the cord that attaches it, then how fun it is to try to “whip” their classmates with it. The 3 I’ve used so far have been completely dismantled and destroyed. They’re ingenious at it. On the good side, I love how the pen writes and, if you’re using it in a space with people less feral than middle schoolers, it’s cute and probably a good way to keep up with your pen. It’s my first year teaching. I’ve had to pay my dues.

Cute, stands out and functional. Happy face base is larger than I thought it would be--almost 2" wide and almost 2-1/2 inches tall. You need that much space for the adhesive backing. Pen swivels out of the way--which is nice. Black coil has great stretch to about 3' long. Can't beat the price either. Hope this helps!
