Not good for oaking alcohol
It's not good for oaking wine, beer or liquor. it has a chemical taste and is too smokey. Almost like the hickory liquid smoke you'd use to make jerky (but not as natural). Infact that's what I'm gonna do with it

Not what I ordered
I ordered โliquid oakโ โMochaโ 2 Oz. I received 1.5 oz generic tannin powder. No description. Wish I just got what I ordered. Maybe itโs all the same but if I wanted powdered form I would have ordered powdered. Plus, I donโt even know if itโs they kind I wanted because thereโs no description.

Easy Way to Add Depth
I dabble with wine making. This product is easy to use and adds tannins and a uniquedepth to wines. If ind it most appealing wiht red wines but I am not a fan of super oaky whites. the notes of chocolate and coffee are subtle but overll it adds a pleasing comlexity to wine.

Recommended item
A little goes a long way with this stuff. I have been wanting to experiment with home brewing for a long time like my grandpa did and once I did get started a while back I have been experimenting ever since. I had never heard of this item before and was happy to experiment with it, my grandpa did everything the old fashioned way and from what I can see, this stuff makes the taste come really close to the real thing. You just need to add a little, do not add more than recommended no matter how tempting it is an ounce/5g is plenty and will give it a noticeable flavor without being overwhelming. I actually ruined my very first batch by nearly doubling the recommended amount so keep it light!. Overall I think Grandpa would have approved. 4 stars.

Good, but you need to be very careful
I've added this to beers and spirits in the past to help simulate barrel aging. It works reasonably well, not well enough to fool an expert but enough to improve the quality of the product noticeably. But you have to be careful. A little goes a long way, and adding just that extra little bit can turn "good" into "undrinkable".

Smells good, adds complexity
I have been bench testing small amounts added to finished win per bottle before I get brave and add a bunch to a 5 or 6 gallon carboy. A little goes a long ways. It immediately adds aroma, flavor and complexity. It gets better after a couple weeks, and Iโm sure a month or two will be great.

Liquid time
This stuff is awesome. It's listed as being used for wines, but I do small batch brewing (5 gallons) and have always tried to simulate barrel-aging with bourbon-soaked oak cubes / chips / etc. Adding this to a stout (along with a little bit of spirits) basically replicates that process in a much, much faster way (although I'm sure it will be even better with time, as everything comes together a bit more). Their recommended usage (just under an ounce for five gallons) was noticeable, but depending on how much "barrel" flavor you want, you may want to do some one-gallon test batches before you go too crazy. Can't wait to experiment with some different beers and varieties of this on other batches.
