Great Product
I was skeptical that this would be study enough to hold my laptop and be light enough to move around; well I was pleasantly surprised. I am disabled and spend a lot of time in a recliner so this had to be light enough when holding the laptop to move out of the way with one hand so I can get out of the chair. Then be able to move it back into a usable position when back in the chair. The pros: 1. Assembly was a piece of cake. All the parts were there and they all went together as designed. 2. The laptop holder is strong and the clamps hold it securely so you do not have to worry about it falling off when using it or moving the stand. 3. The height adjustment is more than adequate. 4. I am a large and comfortable guy (read BIG) and I was worried that the arm would not be long enough to bring the laptop in front of me. It is long enough and does a great job with the two articulating joints. 5. As advertised the feet easily go under my chair even on a carpet. Cons: 1. The knob that you turn to tighten the height adjustment is too small. You cannot get a good enough grip on it to really tighten it so and times everything will slide down. Easy fix would be to change to a 3" knob or lever. 2. No place for a mouse; I know I am old school but I like a mouse verses the touch pad. That's it: I have had it for a few weeks and really love it. I highly recommend this product and would buy it again. I have no affiliation with this product or the manufacturer.

Nice sturdy stand for big tablets
I bought this for my Samsung Galaxy S8 ultra then the second for my wife's iPad Pro. The V-shape feet is very crucial to me because i needed one that fits between couch and wall. I think this one is the best I found on amazon. The aluminum body (all the way to the notebook holder) feels sturdy and has a nice finish. Slightly rounded design on the arms are very nice touch compared to typical square-ish monitor arm like design from other companies. I don't feel much wobble from the setup due to a single pole design (not extending) and the long v-shape feet. Even though it includes other holders, the notebook holder works best for big and heavy tablets. We use S8 vertically and iPad horizontally (clamp design from most companies usually does not work well with big tablets IMHO). The default setting is you fix the first arm from the pole, which makes the swivel quite limited. Only the second arm swivel (pictured on the left stand). The product includes 360 ring stopper that make the first arm to do 360 (pictured on the right stand). Of course you have to put some weight on V-shape feet for that. The cable liner(?) is also nice tough (better than others i have seen). Also the customer service from the company was very responsive for a missing part from one of the order. Overall, very happy with the product and the setup.

It works
Iโve had this for a few months now with my 2017 MacBook Pro and it allows me to work from my couch with a more flexible setting; it needs some workarounds but overall I think itโs great and sturdy. The assembly manual is not super clear at one point but I was able to figure it out with some intuition. A few notes for some folks looking at this product: 1. It might be off-balanced if you rotate your laptop too much to the side but I have its base under my couch so it never falls โ you can also add weights to the base to avoid falling. 2. I wish the length of the center axis would extend/shorten based on how high you want your laptop go, but this does not affect the functionality 3. It requires a bit of work to adjust the height but gets easy once you get the hang of it; I like this just shows how steady the structure is. 4. The base that goes under your laptop would get wobbly from time to time if you rotate your laptop often, which requires retightening. 5. I like that you can collapse the arm while not in use; the base takes up some space just fyi.

Does the job as effectively as I'd hoped
It took about 30 mins to put together. Not a trivial task, but there was a Youtube video mentioned in the instructions that was helpful (not very professionally made, but adequate). It grips my laptop well enough for me to be comfortable with it not falling out, even at some pretty extreme angles. I don't recommend typing directly on the laptop while it's on it (use an wireless keyboard in your lap or whatever), as it will jiggle around a bit. You can if you must, but I'd find it distracting beyond a few sentences here and there. One slight disappointment is the main arm - the height adjustment is awkward involving a thumb screw and there's no rotation of that arm around the base - only at the 2 arm joints (like the elbow and the wrist). I paired it with a zero-gravity chair and have a super ergonomic workstation for long hours of coding/learning/whatever after I'm tired of sitting at the desk or standing. Variety is key. All in all I give it 5 stars because I don't think there's any other product that would meet my needs this well.

It takes some work but is useful
The Magichold is a usable product and has decent stability for heavier laptops. When I first put it together the laptop holder was at an angle. It took a lot of trial and error with the Allen wrench to get it almost straight. The hinges for the arm and holder are a little precarious and even when you think they are tight enough the laptop can still fall in your face. It really took some time to muscle the screws in the hinges enough to get things stable. Moving the arm up and down the pole is also a pain. It doesn't move easily and be sure you don't have anything in the holder when you try to do this. The weight of the legs is great and the most quality part of this product. The overall quality of the product is decent but it's overpriced for what you get. At most this product should sell for $50-$60. Improvements could be made on ease of adjusting and overall mobility and stability of the arms and hinges. I also challenge the idea that there is 360-degree movement. That may be possible, but not with ease. Still, it will serve the purpose of holding the laptop so I can look up or directly at the screen as opposed to looking down while on Zoom calls. My neck and back should be pleased.

Great functionality and value overall
I've used this thing nearly daily for six months and just now thought to myself again how great it is. Decided it was time to write a review. You can see from the photos that it can handle a full-size MBP to allow for comfortable use from a couch. Just a tad wobbly because of the weight, nbd. The height adjustment is a snap. You can also see that it works great with a solid-size Chromebook (not a tablet, a whole Chromebook). The Chromebook is heavy enough that you can see I've added some extra clips to make sure it stays in place at any angle, but I'm sure a lighter tablet wouldn't need anything extra to feel secure. This stand is also light - I took these two photos right after each other, and moving it around the house is absolutely no problem at all. The only real drawbacks here are that the swivel range is limited (but provides the benefit that it stays in place quite well when used as a touch screen) and that it does best when something secures the legs. It's not magic and can overbalance easily with a heavy device. The instructions note that you can place legs under the mattress and that works great. It wasn't too difficult to assemble, although a doofus like me found the video instructions a bit confusing. All in all I really can't imagine not having this thing and I am quite tempted to buy another one or two.

NEEDS BETTER DESIGN AND 5 MONTHS LATER I'M DITCHING IT
I bought this thinking the arm swivelled so I could just swing my laptop out of the way when I got up out of my recliner, only to find out that only part of the arm swivels. Where the arm attaches to the vertical pole, it does not swivel. The pole has a groove in it that runs the length of the pole, and where the arm is attached to it, a tab screws runs through to arm collar and into that groove, so all you can do is move the arm up and down. However, the arm does have an elbow joint that swivels, but not enough to move my laptop completely out of the way. As you can see in the picture, I reversed the arm so that it tilts down, thus enabling the arm of the stand to clear the arm of my recliner, but the problem with that is that the laptop is a little crooked, with one side being lower that the other. I'm going to see if I can cut the pole in half and add a sleeve to the pole so I can get the whole arm to swivel. 5 MONTH UPDATE: I cut the arm in half so the whole are would swivel, but the legs on the bottom of the stand limit the amount of swivel, and if you swivel it too much, the whole stand tips over. Also, I have already re-glued one of the pads on one of the side laptop holders. No matter what I used: contact cement, or epoxy glue, nothing seems to keep the pad glued to the telescoping plastic side mount. I've finally had it with this thing. It is too cumbersome to use, and I'm going to get a wall mount, telescoping, swivel laptop holder instead.

It works perfect.
I have had back surgery and this device has saved my working ability. I am able to put it right near the bed, near the couch, or near the recliner and it works perfect. It goes higher than I first thought so that is perfect. I also like that it has 3 different attachments. The laptop holder is the best especially with a yoga style laptop that you can flip the keyboard to the backside. Then you can angle it down farther. The tablet holder works on it to. The only thing improvement would be to be able to switch between the 3 attachments faster. The laptop clicks onto the holder but the tablet and phone you have to unscrew the holder and screw on its attachment. Still worth it! Itโs built solid, but not to heavy

Terrible
Do not buy this product. Only had it a few weeks and noticed the brackets weakening then tonight my laptop fell out, cut my hand, and the screen was damaged and will require replacement.

WARNING: DO NOT BUY BEFORE READING THIS
I purchased this to use for working with a laptop lying down as advertised. I use a Lenovo Thinkpad to work. After assembly I tested it. The laptop holder springloaded mechanism is extremely weak. Canโt hold the laptop in 90 deg or even close to 90 deg for more than a few seconds. I initiated the return. They want you to pay for the shipping for their defective and sub par product. All the shipping goes to Florida USA. The cost of sending this back is a lot. Donโt risk it.

Useful
Useful gadget. The screw to secure the holder to the vertical frame is a little flimsy.
