The sizing IS off a little, but the harness is awesome! Plus a comparison of the two Puppia styles
The soft vest harness is well-made and appears very comfortable and durable. The large size was too big and bulky for my 11 pound poodle, but the customer service was excellent and refunded my money. My poodle has a very slender build (chest diameter of 16.5 inches), so the size that would best fit an 11 pound dog of another breed might well be the large size. You might have to do as I did and get one of each size to see what fits the best. Be advised that the jump from the medium size to the large is appreciable: it's not just the diffence in chest diameter the harness will accomodate - the hardware is considerably larger and more heavy duty on the large harness. It would be ideal if there was a size between the medium and the large, but the medium was barely able to fit my poodle comfortably because the fabric is a little stretchy and not stiff at all. The corresponding size to a medium in this vest style to the style of Puppia soft harness that has a fixed neck opening is a size small. The hardware goes from dainty to larger when you go from the small to the medium in the style with the fixed neck opening. This vest style is slightly more involved to put on than the style with the fixed neck opening, but I prefer it for my poodle because she pulls when she sees a person or another dog. When she pulls, the vest harness doesn't put any pressure at all on her trachea area whereas the one with the fixed neck opening does a little. Granted, had I gone with the medium rather than the small in the fixed neck opening style, that may not have been an issue. Another reason I prefer the vest harness over the other is that it seems a little more comfortable. Also, since it's a little vest, it gives my poodle a bit of warmth in a cool house and I feel good about leaving it on her all day. I love Puppia's Soft Vest Harness so well that I really, REALLY wish it came in "designer" colors and little frilly designs, too! The Puppia soft harness with the fixed neck opening has some absolutely adorable versions! I'm impressed with the look, quality, and comfort of the Puppia vests. Now that I know my dog's size, I'll order a couple of different colors in the soft vest style and hope for some new, frilly versions in the near future!

Only vest we buy. sturdy - great for all sizes of pups
This is the only harness/vest we use for our senior/special needs rescues. We have them in almost every color (all sizes). For our two with very fat tummies from Cushings It was very easy to take a tuck in the shoulders to make them fit . The velcro allows for some size adjustment so they will fit over a sweater or coat. These are made very sturdy and can be washed. I hang to dry. These are very well made. We have had lab mixes that pull without a problem.

Good quality but has no adjustability. Check the size
It runs on the small side. I got an XXL for my chowchow and should have got an XXXL as it has no adjustability. I know this harness is durable and good quality cuase I've had another from the brand for 4 years now and it looks brand new.

Great brand
I’ve purchased this harness over 6 times in the last few months — unfortunately my puppy likes to chew through it. That said, it is durable, just not indestructible. The brand offers a lot of color options, which I love, and I really like the 2-system safety feature. My dog is about 18 pounds and the size medium fits well. Overall, it’s a good harness, especially if your dog isn’t a heavy chewer.

MEETS ALL CRITERIA
This is the perfect harness. I have had trouble finding the perfect harness because my dogs are 16 and have a lot of arthritis. One of my dogs has her arthritis on her right shoulder and most of the harnesses rub across that area making them painful for her. This one goes up enough on the arm that it doesn't bother her right shoulder. Also, most harnesses slip to the right and left, and I'm constantly having to pull the leash right and left which makes my dog think I'm asking her to go right or left. This one doesn't slip, making this comfortable for ME as well! It makes walking them much more enjoyable because it is extremely irritating to have to pull right or left - and you don't have to with these. One more thing, if you put a sweater on your dog, the ring is at the top, not at the back, which makes it so much better. The size is pretty accurate. I love this harness!

Nice but too big
Bought a plethora of puppia harnesses for my teacup poodle as I’m trying to switch from collars to harness. I read the many reviews on this harness in terms of sizing, so I bought both an xs and small. I measured her neck and chest properly, I didn’t go by breed or weight etc as a tiny dauchand puppy might weigh the same as her (3.5 pounds), but have totally diff body. The harness I got was in the tan color as I love brown, and it was the only one that had brown stitching and detailing vs the others. Pros: Breathable Made well Pretty color of the d rings (they are a blackish brownish steel color vs the rest of the puppia line which is the silver tone, and I hate silver personally but realize that with most harnesses it’s something I’ll have to just get past). The style and ease of it, I prefer this to the over the head version which I also purchased in the same color, but in only one size (the xs, which fit her very well). Seems sturdy. Cons: The buckle on this along with several other puppia harnesses in this style (neon pink harness b xs, pink polka dot harness b size small, and this same harness in an xs), all have what I consider a rather clunky buckle. It’s quite large, and so are the d rings. The exception I found was in a harness I found that was a small but from w newer collection, It had the newer buckles I think these vests now have as I did a lot of digging into styles and colors and sizes and I think after 2018 or around then, they updated the buckles to new styles/patterns to smaller ones which have a rubber puppia thing over it, and also have a smart tag. Another con is the fact that where the buckle and rings sit are above the Velcro closure, meaning it sat only an inch or so below where a collar would have been, making it seem like it defeated the purpose of a harness, as it’s supposed to be safer and better for dogs. This is not the case with their sister brand, Pinkaholic, in which their vests have the Velcro and then a small buckle like the newer puppia ones, with rubber overlay, and smaller rings too, but all on top of the Velcro closure. This makes much more sense to me, unfortunately the two vests I ordered from Pinkaholic only come in a small and they seem to be at least 1.5+ inches too big for her chest. There’s too much of gap where she’s just not made for those, as she’s very dainty and narrow, w a neck of 7” and chest a bit over 10.” This brings me to the sizing wars. On many people will say how they had to get a medium for their 9 pound Havanese or a large for their 11 pound maltipoo. Despite this harness not being a good fit for her, I will say that despite it being frustrating to have a “small” dog wearing a “bigger size” than usual, it states measurements and to please measure, etc. I did find that some fit her better than others and that was usually the case w ones that were shipped directly from Amazon by Amazon vs monopet or brandharbour (I believe brand harbour had sent me a neon pink vest and it had a smart tag listed but it was missing so I wasn’t thrilled about that, but in the end the harness also just had the same issues as this, and that was really the buckle being too clunky and the pink was different than I thought). So I do have my doubts about ordering from the outside vendors that Amazon deals w that sells these harnesses, I would prefer to buy them directly from Amazon or petco PetSmart etc. but that being said, I really thought $22 was kinda pricey for a very plain harness that didn’t have a buckle where it should have been, and rings that were almost too big for my small leash. I could understand if the buckles got bigger if it was a large vs a small etc, but the fact that they are all that way just was a deal breaker and the placement of them. The small size also was too big for her, it fit her, but the xs fit better. The last thing to mention is that there was an annoying fabric gap that showed around her neck. This was the case w the xs too, and in another xs harness as well. The style a version however didn’t have that gap so I preferred that. The buckle on that was also proportional and small as it was an xs. It fit her better since it was adjustable around her chest, but these don’t give much of adjusting. One thing I wish puppia would do w their sizing is it goes from 9.5-10.2 inches in girth for chest in the xs vest, then it jumps to 11.5-12 inches for the small. In the printed versions, most don’t come in xs unless it’s a style a. But the ones like the Junior version also seem to have such a size jump. It would make much more sense if the small then was a 10.2-10.4-11.2 inches and so on. I don’t like that they jump to such extremes. My dog fit the xs better but worried about if it was too snug, or just right, as I was able to fit the two fingers and such, but her chest is 10” so it’s cutting it very close. I think this is a really pretty harness and as mentioned liked the hardware it came with, but just wished it had smaller buckles and that the placement of them where overlapping on the Velcro vs the mid neck. This of course can vary from the breed of dog and it’s size etc, so while it didn’t work for me, I think others do well with it, but main takeaway is measure don’t ask what size will my 8 week old Aussiedoodle be? I’ve seen the answers and they are never going to be the right ones, “my 12 pound pug wears a large. My 6 pound Maltese wears a medium. Etc etc, so I see people asking what their 3 pound yorkie would be and others answering based by what their dog wears which is a diff breed and weight, and has a diff body type. I laugh when someone says get a medium, and the next person says get a xs, my dog is 4 pounds and it’s too big etc). Just measure! And I wouldn’t advise this on teacup dogs (under 4 pounds), for the sheer factor that the buckles and rings are quite large for this, I’d go with the style A or look for a printed version in an xs as those tend to run smaller and will have the newer smaller buckles.
