Is this sturdy enough to hold a tray of lasagna ?

Yes, Our Collapsible Cooling rack is designed for cookie, Pies, lasagna and so om. We recommend that you put the heaviest one on the bottom floor when using it.

Can this be used in a offset bbq pit for smoking ribs? and what temp can the metal take?

The metal seems to be relatively light. I would not use it in a BBQ pit. It is also coated, which might peel off due to the heat.

what are the heights at the lowest setting on the 3 and 4 tier models?

On the lowest setting the 3rd rack is about 7 inches high, and 4th rack is 10 inches high
