As soon as I activate the stopwatch function, my digital timer dims. I don't want it to darken. Why is this happening?

I guess you chose the normal model when using it. This has a constant light mode and a normal mode, if you want to see the time all the time, switch to the constant light mode, if you want to save battery power, switch to the normal mode

When the timer is counting down, is there a way to pause/resume the countdown?

You can pause and resume the timer by pressing the display screen!

Is the time remaining on when setting up?

When you set the time and countdown or the countdown is running, the time will stay on. Automatically enter power saving mode after 5 seconds of pause/stop, just press the button to light up again

Does this have any sort of silent alarm / flashing led light mode? Or is audible alarm the only option?

He can choose to be silent and only have the LED blink. Or beep and LED blink.
