I don't have the tool with me, and I do not remember checking the country of origin. I can say though that it worked very well.

Will this work on ac lines that are already installed on a car?

I think it should work on ac lines, but not if they are hooked up. You also need some space around to position the tool properly. The same would apply to brake lines.
