Review: Atlas - Very good book to help students understand the continents. Review: A book that will take a child around the world! - Hardcover nicely constructed children's book. When my own son was little he was fascinated with maps. I even helped him write a letter to the head of the National Cartography Agency. He received a reply, too. So I'm guessing that a 5 year old nephew will also enjoy looking over maps and far-off places in this lovely illustrated book. If I'm right, this colorful and informative book aimed at young ones will give him hours of pleasure.

It's really nice, especially for an 8 year old
My 8-year-old son absolutely loves this book. He is big into geography. He loves map puzzles, he loves his globe, and he has a memory made of steel and knows all of the capitals!!! .So of course, I had to get him an atlas. You're not a true geography expert If you don't own an atlas!!! lol :) it is a really nice one too. Especially because I only paid about ten dollars for it. I could see it selling for a lot more. It literally stays on the top bunk with him. And he reads it before bed every night :) he is very interested in reading it and looking at all the pictures

Good quality Atlas
I purchased this for one of my grandsons who loves to read the atlas before going to bed. This will be a gift for Christmas and I am hoping that he will enjoy the many levels of information.

Grandson, age 8, is devouring it
This book is clearly conceived and cleverly designed. My grandson got it for his 8th bday, opened it and proceeded to go through it page by page, all 160 pages (well, except for the last one, which was Acknowledgments!). He didn't read every page then. But he was hooked enough to check out every one. Took him almost an hour -- and he was too happily fatigued to open his other presents. HA! Definitely young-user friendly. Each continent contains the same kind of maps and info, in the same order. He focused first on the illustrated maps of wildlife, and then landmarks. He's already circling back to less obvious attractions, such as the maps of population density. As a bonus, this book has plenty of intriguing info for any grownups paging along. In fact, my grandson showed it to his favorite naturalists and staffers at the World Bird Sanctuary in St. Louis, which had first sparked his interest in geography. As one of the senior staffers said, as he flipped through it, "I'D like to have this book myself!"

Great Atlas for adults and children!
Originally bought this Atlas for myself because I like the way it was illustrated with bright and colorful and well labeled geography. Then I gave it to my daughter who was a fifth grade teacher, and her classroom kids devour it. They love itโฆ they love to study it and to read it and it helps explain a lot of questions that they have about geography and to find places on a map. But I missed it because I loved it too, so I ordered a second book!

Lovely picture atlas.
Lovely picture Atlas. Bought it for my dyslexic kids, as pictures stick better than words. Am really impressed by the visual impact. Obviously itโs a pretty basic overview, but it wakens curiosity and gives a basic idea on this planet. Also covers population density, climate, famous land marks- though very few.
