How do you apply this to your hair? I tried rubbing a pea-sized amount between my palms and applying it to my dry hair. But it was so sticky!

You need to put a large pea size amount in you palms and rub you hands together for about 15 seconds so that it’s softer and even over your hands. Then work through hair and style. I sometime need to add a few drops of water so it’s not too dry, and makes a nice cream. Love it since it’s not shiny and no greasy hair look.

Is this stuff greasy?

No its a paste. Has to be worked in but not greasy. Works for short or long hair. Another one that is similar is fiber. This one has no smell really.

How is this product in comparision to a pomade? Is it just less shiny?

This is a paste so it is not shiny at all. This works well when your hair is dry. You can get the dry style look with this compared to pomade. It is also more controllable and shaping. I prefer this much more over the pomade.
