Truly the best
I could never quite duplicate my mom’s chili - then I remembered she always used Spice Islands chili powder, which used to be called Chili con Carne. It is dark and rich and adds a deep flavor to your chili. And that was the secret - now my chili is just like my mom’s. This doesn’t add heat, it adds depth. If you want heat you can chili peppers, cayenne pepper, etc.

It said it was Chili POWDER. The keyword here is powder. It was very course. It should be renamed to "Chili Grit."

Spice Islands Chili power the best for making chili. Not too spicy and can add more after cooking if desired. My favorite spice brand. Worth the slightly higher price

Spice Island chili powder is an essential spice
My wife loves this Chile powder from Spice Islands. Her spice cabinet is full of various chile powders - Lime Chili powder, Chipotle powder, taco seasoning, Fajitas seasoning - but her signature chile falvored dish (a barbequed chicken fajitas) would not be complete with some Spice Island Chili powder. Of course, this chili powder is also used in the chili that she makes in the wintertime. I have not been able to find the Spice Island chili in local supermarkets, and I am thankful that Amazon carries it.
