Easy to replace. It was the same size as the original one. Everything was compatible and unit and fan came back on after replacing. Sorry didn’t get a picture or video.

I purchased this in May 2023 to have on hand as a spare. It was installed in May 2024 when the original capacitor on my AC unit failed. I bought another of the same to have on hand. This unit worked fine until it failed on August 28 2025, so just over a year after install. I put the other on and we’ll see how long it lasts. I’ve messaged the seller about a warranty claim. Will update or edit once I see how that goes. Update: Seller promptly sent me a replacement under warranty. Changed my rating to 4 star for good customer service. Although it didn’t last as long as it should have the seller stands by its product.

On the second year of use, ordering one for our 2nd unit. Easy to install. AC pumped colder air.

So, I bought two of them about a year ago as a just in case. It was Sunday evening just about 10pm, we had a 103 Degree scorcher of a day and the AC starts blowing out warm air and I'm like #@$^ ! and I tell the wife to start packing - its hotel night, then I remembered I had these Capacitors, now keep in mind I've never changed one in my life, but an Ol' AC Guy told me these are the #1 items that go out and they are easy to replace. So, I quickly jump on Youtube, see how they are changed out (make sure you write the color of the wires that match the poles), I turned off the 220v breaker and then you have to disconnect the thermostat inside (it has 24v running thru it), since mine was programmable, I simply pulled it off then went outside to the condenser unit and took the panel off (it took more time to take the panel off then to replace the Capacitor), then I had my wife write down how the wires were connected, I was very nervous because the capacitors have a lot of juice in them - you have to be careful that you aren't touching the blades with your bare hands, anyway - she wrote them down, I pulled the old one off, then reconnected the wires then went back and turned on the power outside, then went inside and reconnected the thermostat and I turned the AC back on (at thermostat) and NOTHING HAPPENED. I was about to just throw in the towel and then all of a sudden the condenser started and the unit started to start moving the freon....... My Wife Looked at me with the Look..... I WAS A HERO !!!! Don't Get One.... GET TWO !

Usually your cool not blowing is normally 2 culprits. The capacitor and Freon. Of course it can be other things too like the contact or a leak in the lines somewhere. You can change this yourself and save a lot of money. Just be sure to turn of the unit, disconnect the circuit out near the outside unit and it’s safe to go ahead and move the switch to off in your breaker box somewhere in the home. When to change it, Take a picture of how the wires are connected to the capacitor then disconnect the wires and replace the capacitor. **Note before changing, dissipate any charge that may still be built up in the bad cap by using a screwdriver and placing it across the terminals on top of the capacitor. This should release any electrical charge stored in it. Connect your wires back on your new capacitor by your pic you took so you know what wire or wires was connected to the: HERM, COMMON & FAN terminal. (The capacitor turns on the Compressor which pushes the Freon through the system to cool your home. Most cases, your unit may not put out cool air most likely the compressor is not kickin on. ( The unit itself is just blowing.)
