A Powerful CPU for Gaming & Productivity!
I recently built my first custom PC with the AMD Ryzen 5 5500, and I couldn't be happier with my decision! This processor offers an excellent balance of performance for the price, It provides performance comparable to more expensive models without breaking the bank. Whether you're gaming, streaming, or working on intensive tasks, this CPU holds its ground brilliantly if you’re on a budget. I've tested it with various games, and it performs exceptionally well, especially at 1080p resolution. The 6 cores and 12 threads allow for efficient background processing without any noticeable lag. Despite heavy use, I’ve found that the CPU stays cool even under load. I paired it with the Wraith Prism, and I rarely see temperatures rising above 70°C, which is impressive. The installation process was straightforward, and it worked seamlessly with my existing B550 motherboard. I appreciate that AMD continues to support their CPUs with BIOS updates, ensuring compatibility with future technologies. Overall, I highly recommend the AMD Ryzen 5 5500 to anyone looking for a powerful, efficient, and budget-friendly CPU. It's a solid investment for both current & future needs.

Super cheap, performs perfectly fine in games.
I was building my girlfriend her first PC, and this CPU was appealing because it's cheap and still (as of early 2026) reasonably performant. I have nothing bad to say about it. It runs Disney Dreamlight Valley at 3440x1440 at 120 fps (paired with a suitable GPU of course) and it's very cool and quiet with the included radiator. In fact, even in a compact case, just using the stock 'Wraith' radiator, it can hit its max boost clock and remain easily within safe temperatures. For $80 this is an absolute steal.

Solid performance and great value for money
The AMD Ryzen 5 5500 was an excellent choice for my PC. Installation was straightforward, and the included Wraith Stealth cooler maintains good temperatures without needing to invest in another one. With its 6 cores and 12 threads, the performance is more than enough for multitasking, gaming, and demanding programs. It feels fast, stable, and reliable, and offers great value for money. Without a doubt, a processor that meets and exceeds expectations.

Very fast
It’s very fast and I love the stock cooler because It’s good for a little bit of overclocking, but not too much. I love the stealth cooler and I like how it’s cheap and it’s a very good budget CPU and it performs amazing!

Solid Budget CPU For Under $100
This CPU's performance for the money is remarkable, It's able to be overclocked and undervolted with decent performance gains for doing so. Some important things to know before buying it is that it lacks integrated graphics (requires a VGA video adapter AKA graphics card for display out) and it only supports up to PCIe 3.0, which does reduce your GPU performance a tad. (although its not really noticeable under most circumstances) The cooling requirements are pretty minimal given the CPU's low 65W TDP (Thermal Design Power) rating. The included cooler will keep it within safe operating temperatures unless under extreme load and overclocked in any way. I do however always recommend a decent aftermarket budget cooler. As with any AM4 CPU the pins are rather easy to bend by accident, be careful during installation. Overall a very good entry level AMD CPU for gaming and light professional work. 10/10

Good budget CPU with solid performance and multitasking
The AMD Ryzen 5 5500 is a good choice for budget builds. With 6 cores and 12 threads, it handles multitasking well and runs everyday applications and games smoothly. Overall performance is quite good for the price, making it a strong option for entry level to mid range PCs. Installation was easy, and the included Wraith Stealth cooler is convenient, though under heavier loads the CPU can sometimes reach over 80°C, which is something to keep in mind. Build quality feels solid, and the processor has been reliable. It’s important to note that this CPU has no integrated graphics, so a dedicated GPU is required. Despite that, it offers good quality and value, especially for users looking to build an affordable system with decent performance.

Great Processor, Great Price. High Quality, Highly recommend
Bought this for my DYI Computer (replaced an 8 yr old Dell). This process comes with a fan, so don't waste money buying a fan. Slips right on to the MB easily. Fan is quiet and efficient. Because the fan is attached you don't need to worry about thermal paste, its done for you. This process is performing better that to my 2016 i7 dell, which is what I wanted. It boots up smooth and fast. I placed in on a GIGABYTE B550M with a ASUS Dual NVIDIA GeForce RTX 3060 V2 OC Edition 12GB GDDR6 Gaming Graphics Card and I am so happy. I also have room to upgrade in the future. I do recommend a minimum 64gb of ram with an AMD process though. I am running 96gb and it works wonderfully. Runs cooler then any system I have every had,
