Plant magic in a little squareโฆโฆ..
Iโve purchased various amounts of this coco coir 11 times now. Thatโs how much I love it, but most importantly, all of my indoor plants do too. The difference from barely surviving before this coco to thriving and healthier plants is beyond words. I tried some other coco coir brands and the difference is very notable. Plants definitely showed signs of it. Based upon my experience over a couple of years now, Iโd say this is plant magic in a little square! Phenomenal! Iโve only ONE time (recently) experienced the 2 boxes of coco coir I ordered were simply unusable- one box looked like black heavy clay after I added water and the 2nd box, after I added water, remained hard as a rock. I reached out to Amazon and explained I KNOW this companyโs products are exceptional and something odd must have occurred, as we know and understand every now and then with ANY product, there can be flaws, damage, etc. Amazon had 2 replacement boxes of coco coir at my door within 8 hours! Truly love the coco coir, worth every single penny and am a lifetime customer now!

Great use for sand boxes for rats and helps with plant drainage
Great price and it really does spread out a lot when you wet it. I used half a brick and I got a whole sand box for my rats, and 4 new filled pots for my plants. I honestly didnt think there would be so much condensed into these bricks and now I have 5 1/2 brick to use for anything. It wasnt dusty at all when wetting it or when it dried, which is why its such a good material for rats to play in! It does seem like it drains water pretty well. After a day the pots soil doesn't seem wet anymore and that's something my plants have needed, as ive been dealing with soil mites from overdose soil. Highly recommend using these and mixing with potting soil to help keep those mites away. They aren't harmful to your plants at all (unless you have spider mites) and they can help with breaking down organic matter, but all the same I do not want them in my house so using these bricks have been super helpful!

High quality coir. Lovely stuff!
I use coir for gardening, vermicomposting, and growing starts. These are coir blocks. There's not a lot to note in description especially if you're familiar with this wonder. I've used well over a dozen from these folks and not once found chunks of unprocessed materials - which has happened with far more pricey garden center single blocks. They enthusiastically (QUICKLY!**) and comprehensively rehydrate and it just makes me happy every time. This coir rehydrates without any greasy residue on water surface or odd smell, which I've experienced with lesser quality products. This means I felt, and continue to feel, secure using it in my vermicomposting as well. For me, this is a soil addition that's *well* worth its cost in hanging on to liquid gold - water. This helps my container plants especially - as I live in an area where triple digits are the norm through the growing season. A generous addition of this means the difference between twice or single daily watering on the small containers which has several benefits. For anybody unfamiliar with coir, I find it also makes a much better medium addition than peat for starting seedlings. In my local climate peat moss plugs dry out too fast and well, making unhappy seedlings in their water repellant cubes. For the seedlings I do purchase, a little cocoon of this all around helps the roots grow past the peat = and then they can find water. So I'm here once again to stock up for next year because this amazing, versatile, RENEWABLE product also doesn't expire or go 'bad', you just need to keep it dry. Not that getting it wet spoils it, but it might do in the container. **The rehydrating thing- if you haven't used this stuff the blocks expand a LOT and a small bucket won't do. Even a 5 gallon bucket should be watched and keep the brick upright! Rehydrating goes very fast and the brick will want to fall over and before you realize it's capsized.... It is capable of deforming the bucket into an impressive oval before it shatters. Trust me. ๐๐ UPDATE: Still buying from this seller! Dependable quality, still excellent price point.

Great product
I love this. It is so easy to use. I mix it with water, watch it expand and then add it to my compost. Very nice.

So far so good - More review to come
As title says, so far so good. About my pictures: Pic 1 is just showing the package the product was received in. Pic 2 is showing 5 bricks were received and were individually wrapped in plastic packaging. Pic 3 is just to show I weighed each brick using a this precision nutrition scale. Pic 4 is showing the weight of the heaviest brick. Pic 5 is showing the weight of the lightest brick. The total weight of all bricks combined came out to be 118.8 ounces or 7.425 lbs. So this particular box of Plantonix Coco Coir exceeded the stated weight of 7 pounds by .425 lbs or approximately 6%. The only problem I have with the weight is, and I know this might seem like a non issue for most, is the weight range of the individual bricks. As you can see from the pics, the bricks weigh any where between 26.6 ounces on the high end, to 18.6 ounces on the low end. That's a half pound swing. The reason I am a little critical of this is when it comes time to mix the coco coir and perlite. I normally use a 650 gram brick coco to 4 dry quarts of perlite, easy-peasy, half bag. I guess i don't understand why it's difficult to get to the 650 grams per brick. Seems like you put 650 grams of loose coco coir into the mold and compress it. I know picky, picky, picky. Just like things to be easy. So for those that have a scale just mix approximately 1 dry quart to every 162 grams of coco coir. Another issue i have is the smell of the coco coir itself. I am hopping that after expanding, rinsing and drying the smell goes away. I'll let you know after I finish the above. So, in a nut shell thus far, product did come in individually wrapper packages unlike what others have said, there was 5 packages and not 4 as others have said, and i did receive more than 7 pounds as stated. I will finish this review after I go through the hydration process. Update 3/18/23 It's going to take around 700 to 750 grams with approximately 5 qtrs of perlite to get your 5 gallons. However I would start off with 675 grams and 4 qts of perlite. It makes it a lot easier to mix and rinse. Don't forget to rinse through a strainer to remove all the fine particles and dust after hydration.
