Is this set of knives worth buying?

If you cook a lot, I'd say no. They lack variety for the price compared to some other sets. If it had a few more knives, then maybe. Quality is OK, but for every day use I don't think they're that great. If you just need a set of knives in your kitchen and don't really care what kind they are, then it is a cheaper option.

Is it okay to sharpen them? If so any particular way to sharpen them?

Sharpening your knives require a 3 stone block. They vary in grit and density. The “old round one”…is a hone. You use it between sharpening STO keep the edge true.

The hardness is fine, they just don't cut.
