Good SSD for Editing
Great little hard drives for quick transfers and raw photo and video editing with no lag. I just wish they were a little cheaper like they used to be. That being said, they are stable and reliable. I'd recommend if you need something that's fast and reliable for editing.

Great product.
Works perfectly/seamlessly on my iMac and MacBook Pro. It's speedy, durable and very convenient to have. I have not noticed any heat issues with this drive even when copying large amounts of data. Good product.

Rugged, Fast, and Reliable โ My Go-To Portable SSD for Everything
I bought the Samsung T7 Shield 2TB mainly because I needed something fast and durable for backing up large video files and working on projects across multiple devicesโand itโs honestly been one of the most reliable pieces of gear I own now. The first thing that stood out to me was the build quality. It has this rubberized outer shell that feels tough without being bulky, and it gives me a lot of confidence when I toss it into my bag. Knowing itโs IP65-rated for water and dust resistance and can handle drops up to around 9.8 feet makes it feel like itโs built for real-world use, not just sitting on a desk. Performance-wise, itโs exactly what I was hoping for. Transfer speeds are super quickโI regularly move large files in seconds, and editing directly off the drive has been smooth with no noticeable lag. With read speeds up to around 1050MB/s, it keeps up with my workflow easily, whether Iโm working with videos, photos, or game files. Another thing I appreciate is how consistent it feels during longer transfers. Iโve used some portable drives in the past that slow down or get really hot, but this one stays pretty stable thanks to its thermal management. It just works without me having to think about it, which is exactly what I want from storage. From a usability standpoint, itโs also super simpleโplug-and-play across my laptop, desktop, and even my console. Itโs compact enough to carry everywhere, but still feels substantial and well-built in hand. If I had one small complaint, it would be the priceโitโs definitely not the cheapest portable SSD out there. But for the combination of speed, durability, and peace of mind, I think itโs worth it. Overall, the T7 Shield has been rock solid for me. If you need a fast, portable SSD that can handle a bit of rough treatment without compromising performance, this is an easy recommendation.

Very stable data transfer with high quality and durability.
Overall pleased the Samsung, SSD T7 Shield. I feel the documentation for the way to partition the drive space could have been better. I have worked in software and hardware so I figured the best way via googling the best way to allocate space and how to best size the partitions. It is very small and secure. Cables are good quality Speed of drive is good. Very stable data transfer.

A decent substitute for the Sandisk 4TB Extreme Pro Portable SSD V2 until Sandisk fixes them...
I do a lot of backups, and I've been backing up computers to hard drives for a very long time. As different external drives move to prominence, I move to them. Samsung SSDs I had used as internal drives, but the first class of SSD I used for external drives were the Sandisk 4TB Extreme Pro V1 & V2 portable SSDs. These drives were absolutely phenomenal! I literally bought a dozen of them over many years. But then, in the past 18 months or so, Sandisk released a bad batch of them that lost user data! So until they fixed the issue, I couldn't risk buying one, so I tried the Rugged T7 - which seems like the closest substitute. It's a fine drive to compare to the old Extremes. It's a little bigger and heavier, but that's because it's rugged, and I love that. I love the rubber feel. Samsung generously gives you two full cables to use with it - one with USB-A and one with USB-C. The packaging was really cool, but I'm one of those people who likes to store the drive and cable in the original packaging, and the box is pretty huge for that. This isn't an issue at all if you want to just store the drive separately. So why do I only consider this a good drive until Sandisk gets back on their feet again? Simply because it's a lot slower than the Extremes. For people coming from rotating disks, they will be very impressed, but this is more like a gen1 SSD drive. Using an APFS formatted volume with USB-C and an Apple M1 Max laptop, on BlackMagic I consistently got 825 MB/second read and 633 MB/second write. With the Extreme, I never dropped below 1,000. (Except in real world transfers, where everyone falls and seek rates are more important.) I haven't done a backup yet with one of these and my M1 Max, so as soon as I do, I'll update this with a comparison. But so far, this looks to be a fine drive. And It's OK fast - going faster is more of a luxury item. Since I cannot at the moment recommend Sandisk drives due to the huge scandal, I whole heartedly recommend this Samsung rugged T7 as the next best thing. And it's at a great price, too - I got the 4TB for just $250. I guess with that in mind, being slower is fine. :) Fingers crossed that companies will solve the technology issues that have been holding back 8TB drives.

4dรญas considerando que venรญa desde lejos.

Nice SSD USB Drive for Running VMs
Having been used it as the VM storage to run the VMs for a couple of weeks. It is reliable and fast enough to run multiple VMs simultaneously. Strongly recommend to those tech people who need VM stroage which is convenient to carry and fast enough to run multiple VMs at the same time.

Great size, nice "shield" surrounding the drive.
I have an earlier Samsung 2Tb drive, which is great, but this 4Tb T7 Shield is even better. Nice and fast to access, nice and small to travel with. While I don't think the 4Tb+ sized SSD drives are yet at their pricing sweet-spot, if you look around (like on here) you can get a very good price with a little patience (or timing luck). I plan to get another of these soon, they are excellent. A bigger colour range would be nice, but doesn't detract at all from the drive's performance.
