No the caffeine is not green tea. The caffeine is microencapsulated sustained release caffeine. The effects of the caffeine are like a slow burn over time. It's not the same as a standard caffeine pill where you feel a strong jolt quickly. Time Release Caffeine lasts longer and is a subtle caffeine boost.

ON the ingredients on the back it says 100 mg of caffeine. vegetarian capsule ingredients Rice powder, Hypromellose (Capsule), Microcrystalline Cellulose (Plant fiber) Silicon Dioxide, Magnesium Stereate (Vegetable source) So I think - the caffeine that they use is plant based - but it doesn't actually say where the caffeine comes from - unless it's one of the ingredients mentioned. I have other caffeine pills and they mentioned some type of caffeine source like caffeine Anhydrous. The pills are working great for me - I can monitor my intake perfectly - not too low - not too high - no coffee buzz - and it's worn off when I want to go back to sleep. So glad I got turned onto these and the non time release ones by a friend. Hope this helps.

This product does contain rice powder in its ingredients in order to maintain the integrity of the capsule. However, the amount of rice powder contained in the formula is so tiny, that the product contains zero carbs according to label guidelines. Thanks! - The VALI Team
