How is this different from a b+w clear uv haze with multi-resistant coating (010m). A pro advised buying it, though I have the Tiffen filter.

I am far from a pro but I think the uv filters all serve the same purpose with just a difference in quality (and price). The multi resistant coating would seem to add the extra quality but for the price difference, at my level of photography, the Tiffen works well. I like the uv protection but my first concern was protecting the lens.

Will this fit the Panasonic Lumix DMC FZ200 lens?

This filter will only fit the Panasonic Lumix DMC FZ200 lens if it takes a 52mm sized filter. The threads are universal fitting nearly all lens of this size.

would this filter work with the Canon EF 50mm f/1.8 II ?

canon 50mm 1.8 ii and 1.8 stm take different size filters. I put a 49 to 52 step up adapter on my stm to use my existing 52mm filters rather than buy 49mm filters.. You will then also need a 52 mm cap.
