Does this kill fire ants?

I am not sure but I would imagine it would. It’s pretty powerful stuff. Definitely worth trying!

Will this work with carpenter ants

I imagine it would work with those as well. I have used this product inside my house and outside of my house and it has attracted different types of ants. I have not seen any carpenter ants so I can’t say for sure but it works on all the other ones.

Does this work for spiders?

I don't believe so. Ants eat this and bring it back to their nest and it poisons them. Spiders eat other insects, not this, so I don't believe that it will kill them.

Is this gel supposed to harden? And then is it effective still?

The ants that I had didn't leave the stuff alone long enough for it to harden. But then, after the first 24-36 hours there were no more ants. I still get some very tiny ants in the summer that don't seem to be attracted to the bait, I don't remember if it hardened or not, just threw away the bait station when it was obvious the little ones weren't interested.
